Question about HP Pavilion N5475 (F3927H) PC Notebook

Replacing the hard drive in my HP Pavilion N5475

I am trying to replace the hard drive in my HP Pavilion N5475 and have done this successfully on many laptops, however this laptop does not seem to have a hard drive component door or an obvious area around the edges for one to slide out. I am thinking that I will have to remove either the keyboard or somehow seperate the shell. Can anyone tell me what the correct solution is and how to do it? Thank you.

I'm guessing it doesn't load to Windows either.
Your laptop hard drive probably needs replacing.
You will need to reinstall your system too.

How to replace power supply on hp pavilion slimline s3200 pc

I have included a link directly to the upgrade and service manual for your PC. The directions for removing and replacing the power supply are not included. However, there are directions for removing the cover and identifying several parts.

I have replace many power supplies and it does take some attention to detail. I would suggest that you either diagram or put markers on all the cords you unplug from the origian power supply. Generally, the power supply is easy to find and is secured with screws that can be seen on the outside of the case. The power supply will plug into the system board, sometimes in two different places. The power supply also plugs into the hard drive, CD drive, floppy drive (if you have one).
You must be certain that you obtain the correct power supply that is the same as the old one you are replacing.

If you are observant, document carefully and go slow, you should be successful in replacing your power supply.

Here is the link to the manual. It has diagrams and images so you can see what is being described.

I hope that this is helpful.

At boot up I get the XP loading then stops. I get the blue screen of dealth. I placed the hard drive in another HP Pavilion dv 9000 and it works find. So, can I fix it or get a new motherboard

1. Try to clear all the dust by using blower and not sucking section. If possible use soft brush to clear any hard dust.
2. Try removing memory and replacing it after cleaning the slots.
3. Remove the processor and replace it in position, at the time of replacing even clean the heat sink compound and apply new heat sink compound.
After 1 and 2nd step try turning it on. It it does not help then only try the third step

Wont boot. Black screen Hard drive light flashes 3 times then every thing goes quiet.

Does it completely shut-off on it's own? If so, then you're likely needing some component replaced. First check the RAM & and then the hard drive. If neither of these is causing the problem, then you're looking at some more serious work needing to be done on your laptop. Unfortunately, the only way to check your RAM is if you have some extra memory sticks to swap into your computer, or another laptop that is compatible with your laptop's RAM to try in it. The same goes for checking the hard drive too. Does your hard drive make alot of noise? If so, then that will probably be the cause. If you end up replacing your hard drive on your own, then be sure to order the correct hard drive. The size of the hard drive isn't really a big deal, though I recommend replacing it with something that is 160 GB or larger, since your original one was probably 160 GB. The interface for it will have to be SATA (Serial ATA), not IDE (PATA).

We do not say that the hard drive is damage maybe the IDE was faulty already. You may open your laptop and check the hard drive. Try to replace the IDE to check if the hard drive is good.

You might have a bad or worn out hard drive. After so many reloads of windows the drive can have problems. Try a different hard drive. And reload windows.

My hp pavilion crashed and won't work. the repair report says the volune is corrupt and can't be automatically repaired

This means your operating system has become corrupt. This most frequently happens as a direct result of bad sectors on your hard drive. I recommend replacing the hard drive and reinstalling the operating system.

Bought HP Pavilion dv2910tx,not able to install Windows XP. Help

If the install cannot detect the hard disk then the hard disk is faulty and needs replacing or the disk controller is faulty.
You can check if the hard disk is faulty by :-
Go into the BIOS and check if there a hard disk diagnostic.
If not then remove the hard drive and connect it to an USB hard drive adapter and plug it into a working computer's USB port.
If this computer see it as an external hard drive and you can view the contents of the drive then it is OK and the fault is the disk controller on the laptop.
To setup XP.
You insert the Windows CD and boot up the laptop with the CD.
You have done this correctly to get the hard disk error message.
