Sounds like the hi limit switch is shutting it down, because it is not getting enough water, cloged filter, valve to heater notopen, bypass valve not closed, open up the water releif valve with the pump running should be alot of water running coming out of it.

We have a laars lite 2, when we openned the pool

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

It could be...does it open up at the point the heater shuts down? Check it with a DMM to see. It is more likely an issue with flame recognition off the pilot/ignitor. Check them for rust that would cause a faulty connection.

It sounds like your pool heater might have a defective controller (the part, not you). Check the controller and replace if necessary. It could also be that you need to cycle the ignition sequence until the air is out of the gas line. It could also possibly be that your gas valve needs to be replaced.

Burner cycles on and off within 2-5 seconds. What could the problem be? Model Teledyne Laars LLD250N

Sounds like the flame sensor. If the sensor doesn't see a flame, it shuts off. Good luck...Lee
