Question about Casablanca Fan 74U9D Four Seasons® III Classic White Ceiling
I changed the light kit on a Casablanca Four Seasons fan and now the fan doesn't work. The lights kit works fine, but no fan now.
What to Do When Your Fan
Doesn't Turn On
If your fan's not working at all, first check to be sure that its' getting power from the switch and from the breaker or fuse box.
Check to be sure that a fuse hasn't blown, or a breaker hasn't flipped, then look at the switch. Here's how:
tep #1. - . Turn off the power to the circuit your fan is on
Step #2. - Remover the switch cover plate, and unscrew the mounting screws that attach the switch to the electrical box.
Step #3. - Using a voltage tester, check the screw terminals on either side of the switch. They should not read as “hot” or charged. Once you've determined that you won't get a shock, pull the switch gently out of its box.
Step #4. - Unscrew the wires from their terminals. Straighten out the ends of these wires with a pair of needle nose pliers.
Step #5. - Twist the ends of the wires together, then screw a wire nut onto the end of this.
Step #6. - Turn the circuit back on, and observe the fan. If it starts moving, you'll need to replace the switch. You can buy a new one and re-install it easily, though you should make sure you have the power off before doing so! If the fan doesn't work again, your problem is either in the fixture itself, or the wiring. In that case, turn the power back off, replace the switch and cover plate, then check the fixture or call a repair person.

Changing Light Bulbs
Be sure to turn power to the fan OFF at the wall switch or circuit breaker before changing light bulbs. other wise in some cases the fan switch gets short and fan stops working but lights work. Also check out the fan motor and its connections. If they are not connected ot got loose while removing the fan lights and replacing them. Then due to loose motor connection fan will not start. For more troubleshooting:-- 1)Check main circuit fuses and breakers if your fan will not start. If your fan will not operate at any speed, you may need to replace the pull-chain switch assembly or PCB assembly. 2)Check for loose light fixture screws, glass shade screws, or motor housing screws if your fan is noisy. Tighten if necessary. Check for loose light bulbs and tighten if necessary. Check the canopy and switch housing for any loose wire nuts.
3) Run your fan at high speed for a couple days to break it in if the fan is unable to run on low speed. If your fan will not reverse, you may have a defective reverse switch or capacitor and will need to replace the reverse switch assembly, PCB assembly or the motor unit. Thanks.
