What can I do to retrieve my forgotten administrator password on my mac osx computer

There are programmes available for around 55GBP that will make a new password for you or you could seek help from a computer repair shop.
I can do it for you for 20GBP plus p+p. If you supply proof of ownership.

Cannot reformate hard drive

You have to be the computer administrator to change any values on any of your hard drives
Administrator
1.Open your "Control Panel," which is located on your "Start" menu under "Settings."
It may also be on your "Desktop."
2.
Click on "Users Accounts."
This will show you the administrator of the computer.

3.
Look at the various things that you can do on this page.
You can set up other users, change or remove your password, change your picture or account type and manage another account.

4.
Select "Manage another Account."
This shows all the users for this computer.
You can "Create a New Account" here or you can change the type of account each user has.

5.
Pick "Create another Account" and click on it.
Type in the name you want to call this new account.
For example if you want to create an account for your child, you call the new account by the child's name.
Decide on whether this user will be a "Standard User" or an "Administrator."
Most of the time you will want to make the user a "Standard User," but if you are getting a new computer and turning this computer over to someone else, you need to make them an "Administrator."

6.
Change the computer's administrator.
Pick a "User" or create a new user.
Make them the administrator as described in Step 5.
Delete the old administrator's account or change it to a standard user.

BIOS to change boot order
During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup usually the Delete or the F2 key but will differ depending on your computer and Bios.
Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS then using the arrow keys navigate to advanced bios features press enter change your first boot device to cd press escape then press f10 to save to cmos restart
this will erase you operating system you will have to have an operating system disk to load it onto you hard drive or create a partition to load another operating system.
Note: After you have loaded the operating system you should go back and change the first boot device to failsafe or optimised defaults after windows has loaded
If you are putting windows XP on your computer your computer will automatically restart it might restart 2 times one to finish the installation
the next will be because the operating system is loaded and will boot from your cd\dvd.

Creating a admin

Computer administrators have access to make certain changes on a computer that other users may not have. Administrators have full freedom to install and uninstall programs, move files around and make changes to the Windows registry. There are actually three ways that one may become the administrator on their computer; during the initial setup, change the settings in the Control Panel or by having the current administrator change the permissions on the account.

Set up an account during the initial setup of Windows on the computer. During the setup wizard, you will be asked to set up an administrator account. Choose the account name, user icon and password to set up the administrator account. Step 2.Change your account permissions if there isn't an administrator account currently setup. During some installations Windows users were allowed to install the program without setting up an administrator account. Click on "Start" then "Control Panel" to open the Control Panel. Click on "Users and Accounts" or "Users Accounts and Family Safety". Click on "User Accounts." Click on "Add or remove user accounts" then "create a new account". Assign the new account administrative privileges, a user name and password. Click "OK" and close all windows. Log in under the new Administrator account. Have the current administrator change your account privileges from "User" to "Administrator". She can do this by following the same steps described in Step 2. Instead of creating a new account, she must click on your current account and then apply the new permissions. If you do not currently have an account on the computer, she will need to create you one.

Hi jdaviswillia...
Try this solution to your problem
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Start your computer
1. Keep pressing "F8" as the laptop computer starts.
This will start the computer in Safe Mode.
2. When the window "Advanced Boot Options" opens, choose "Safe Mode" with arrow key and confim by pressing the Enter key, then PC enters the Safe Mode.
3. Once you are in the Safe mode Click "Administrator" on the Windows login screen.
Take note that you have set the Administrator password before, you need to input the changed password instead of leaving "Password" field blank.
4. Then click Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > Select the account that is locked and change the password.
5. Restart laptop and login into the account you just created using your new password.
Please take time to rate me

I cannot remember my password to log onto the computer, how can this be remedied?

Try booting into Safe mode, if you can get in, (using win xp), go to control panel / user accounts/ craete new account. Set as admin.
Reboot and open with new account, you can then access the old account to change the password

Or delete the old account and SAVE the files for that account

If you cannot do this, try this link:

Help with ibm thinkpad

You would need to get the administrator password to enable options. Either you can get it touch with the administrator of your company to help you with the password, or Google to find out how you can get one.
Thanks
