Question about Cyberhome CH-DVD 300 DVD Player

1 Answer

Why does my player display

Why does my CH-DVD 300 player display "Loading", then It says" Bad Disc" or "No Disc"?
Once in a blue moon it will play the disc that is loading, but usually it won't play anything, even though it used to play these same discs.

The laser could be dirty. If you are comfortable disassembling it, then find the laser eye and apply rubbing alcohol with a cotton swab.

Bad DVD message

I'm assuming that you made sure the disc is free of smudges and dust. It's possible that between now and the last time you tried, you ended up with a dirty lens - try another disc to be sure it's only this one that has problems. If another DVD has trouble too, you need a lens cleaner kit.

My player won't play. It always says.

There are two common problems that occur with the CH-300 DVD player. Either the machine will not power up at all and the power indicator won't work or after a disk has been inserted the on screen display will say "loading disk" but then say "bad disk".
First remove the top cover secured wih screws, you will now be able to identify the power supply board. At the output connector measure the 5 volt output with a voltmeter. If less than 4V, than the unit will not work properly. The filter capacitors are bad. Replace C10, 2200uf@ 10V and C11, 1000uf@ 10V. Because of the limited space provided, use capacitors of the same physical size. Do not try to pigtail a larger cap in its place. The circuit will not operate properly. I can supply these if you can't find them locally.

THE PLAYER DISPLAYS BAD DISC.

You have not said the TYPE of CD or DVD you are trying to play.
Your manual will clearly state what can be played and what cannot. ALSO, some mfg's like mine (samsung blu-ray) provided software or firmware updates you can d/l to flash drive or burn on cd and insert.
Check manual and your mfg websit for what's available.

After loading every disc displayes "wrong disc'

are they bootleg dvd's? if not try getting a lense cleaner because wrong disc means it's reading your dvd's as .mov files which only play on quicktime in a computer. if it reads your cleaner as wrong disk too then get yourself a refund cuz it has a motherboard malfunction.

DVD Player stops in "Loading..." mode

1. Check that disc is encoded for your geographical region. A disc from Europe (Region 2) will not play in a North American (Region 1) player. 2. Turn off player with disc inserted, unplug temporarily from wall outlet, plug back in and turn back on. 3. If your player has a transportation lock (usually a plastic screw on the bottom of the unit), make sure that it is not engaged. 4. If you have an older player, check with the manufacturer to see whether an update to the firmware is available. Many newer DVD titles with lots of special features are famous for causing problems on older players. if nothing helps, call for service.
