Question about AT&T Blackberry Curve 8300 Smartphone
Without any crash, i lost the majority of my email on the blackberry and all history of SMS messages. Blackberry is working just fine, these all just disappeared. Every see something like this happen?
When your blackberry begins to errase your emails and sms messages it's because it's running out of free files, so it begins to delete things to make space. You're supposed to take the battery out and turn the phone off in order to reset it atleast once or twice per week. This should solve the problem. If you go under options, status and look for "file free" if that number is lower than 18,000,000, then you need to take the battery out for a few to reset the device.

If your blackberry is locked with a password, they feature a fail-safe in every blackberry that will erase all the data on the unit if an invalid password was entered TEN times in a row. Keep in mind, that this will happen if someone is trying to use your unit without your permission (not a hacker, but someone who physically had your phone in their possession).
The reason that I say that is because the blackberry will prompt you to type in various phrases (including the word blackberry) through out your various bad attempts to enter a password. This is designed to slow the user down in the event that you are accidentally entering passwords (if its in your pocket), or if you genuinely forgot your password.
This may not answer your question, but this the only thing that makes sense to me.
