White smoke from exhaust pipe..

Depends on the colour of the smoke.
Unlikely an engine will sound healthy emitting black smoke - excess fuel.

An engine could sound healthy emitting white smoke (steam from coolant) but not from white smoke (excess unburned diesel).

Most engines emitting blue or blue-grey smoke from burning engine oil can sound very healthy.

white smoke when starting from cold is
condensation of moisture in the muffler/ tail pipe
that is normal .... till the engine warms up

heaps of white smoke when hot
suggests coolant/steam in the combustion chamber

blue smoke is oil
black smoke is fuel

What is year--make--model?
Are you losing coolant? The white smoke may be coolant in the combustion cylinder, possibly caused by a head gasket problem. If head gasket problem, fix that first.

With idle issues, clean/check anything that has to do with idle air system. Any applicable trouble codes?

It's normal for cars to do this in cold weather til the engine warms up a bit. If it's not cold you might have a head gasket going bad causing antifreeze to get into the engine.

So if it's not consuming oil and you are SURE to fill the radiator to PROVE it's not burning coolant ... then the other suspects are head gasket and .... A puff of smoke upon start-up could be caused by valve guide seals allowing some oil to leak down into the cylinders while the car is parked and not running. If it's blue-white then What you might be seeing is oil burn-off from leaking valve guide seals. white smoke out of the exhaust would be a sign that it is burning coolant... if it goes away after it warms up, it could just be condensation inside the exhaust pipe. 1800 rpm is a very high idle, maybe have your IAC motor on the throttle body checked... check engine light? if so have the code read at your local auto zone.

Your head gasket is leaking and you'll have to take your car to your mechanic, the wihte smoke is coolant leaking into theengine cylinders, check you radiator it's problably low.

Its not the gas. I had the same problem. Its your crank sensor. It costs 50$ from the dealer.

White smoke is caused by coolant or water coming out the tail pipe. There is a chance that the white smoke was caused by water splashing up from a puddle onto the exhaust pipe. Keep an eye on the coolant level in the radiator in any event. If its less then there leak coolant leak in the car engine which is causing this problem....

the white smoke is oil smoke,check your valve stem seals,if they are bad it will smoke till it burns the oil that leaked by when it was sitting.as far as it stalling in the morning check your choke it may need adjusting.
