Question about Bialetti Moka Express 6-Cup Coffee Maker

Open Question

How do i replace the handle, which melted off?

I have a Bialetti Stovetop Espresso Maker, and after using it a few times, the handle melted. I understand that the company sells replacement handles. Are all the handles the same size? And how, exactly, do I replace the handle? Will you give me step-by-step instructions?

SOURCE: Handle of Bialetti Moka Express 10 cup...

There is a tiny pin at the top where the handle slides into a slot between 2 aluminum walls. That pin needs to be "punched" out. I used a nail and hammer, but a tiny nail punch might be safer if you have one.

SOURCE: How much coffee?

Fill it as full as you can with fine ground coffee. I cut the resulting brew with an equal amount of boiling water. Called an "Americano" in Italy.

I want to change the rubber seal on a bialetti coffee maker

Just take your coffee maker apart and look under the top part. You'll see the seal and the metal filter. They are only held there by the friction of the seal itself (and any crud that might have built up by now). So with your finger nail or a butter knife pull out the seal, and with it will come the metal filter. It's not a bad idea to do this every time you clean your maker anyway. To replace with old or new seal, just put it back in place: first metal filter, then seal. Easy as can be.

I have just blown the valve on my bialetti cappuccino maker, can I reuse it?

The valve no, it is dangerous. Steam under pressure is a bomb. If you can detach ?unscrew? the old valve and find a new one, it will be fine.
