Use a multimeter to cehck for a short on the diode as you have mentioned a blackening. if so disconnect and test out of circuit. if this is short you have the culprit, if not check the power output section for a short. check also on the speaker connections/ the wires for any short.if so trace and correct. I hope this short will change the status of the protect. Good day

How to switch protection off (red LED to blue)

The protection light is on indicating a short or over- voltage problem. If you disconnect the speaker leads and the light goes off or green then the problem is a shorted speaker or wiring problem. If the light stays red the problem is inside the amp and it will need service and parts.

Bosch 18v driver/drill charger won't charge

1. Check your charger's wire. Most of the wire s are always damage in the root of plug & to the opposite side.
2.Check the fuse.
3.Check the Rectifier Diodes. How many Diodes do your charger has?most of the chargers are only one, sometimes 4(a bridge type,& somtimes only one but 4 legs( it is also called a bridge type)
to test a 2 legs diode is just simply get a multi tester and adjust or set it in X1.,then look for the white band(mark) of diode,if you can see that mark, remember that it is the positive side.what will you do is put the red pin of the tester to the positve side of the diode,& the black pin of the tester to the negative side of the diode. If if the neddle of the diode will move, then you must reverse the pin of the tester, the red pin now will be put in the negative side of the diode and the black pin of the tester now will be put on the positive side( to the side with white mark or band).
now,if the neddle of the tester WILL MOVE after doing this reverse test: im sure that your diode is dead and needs to be replaced

Note:even most of the time you can do testing diodes attached on the board..,it is strongly recomended to detach one leg of the diode to the PCB or circuit befor doing the test.

Myc370amp turns its self about 15seconds after turn on

Replace 3 capacitors on the protect printboard. (located near the outpt terminals) 50V electrolyt: 4,7uF, 47uf and 10uF. And move the big diode to the back of the printboard (the heat from the diode dries out the capacitors)

Work in 9/10 times ;)

I accidently put red to black and black to red on 12 volt

The fuse is probably blown and will continue to blow until the protection diode inside the radio is replaced. Do not remove this diode, have it replaced, as it saves the rest of your radio when you hook it up backwards. Do not try a larger fuse. A standard CB radio should be fused at about 2 amps. or 804-855-4747 I can fix it if you'd like.

No power

You are so right, there is a short.. This is usually a result of hooking the power leads up in reverse-polarity. As a result, the protection diode shorts, preventing the death of the rest of the radio. This diode, a solder-in part, is found on the pc board, next to the red wire that connects from the DC power jack. A 1.5 amp general purpose diode will work. And don't use a 30 amp fuse.

Check to make sure you reconnected the jumpers to connect the board that you removed. Also, check to make sure no resistors are burning. If still no pix, make sure you reconnected multi pin plug by digital convergence unit (DCU). Next, disconnect conv. plugs marked red, green and blue. This should allow power to come up if chip(s) are bad. Next, check pico fuses on board by jumper connectors or in power supply. If these are open look for solder bridges around conv. amps. Also, if any of these are open check all zener diodes beneath heat sinks where you installed conv. amps. Probably 27 v glass zeners shorted if solder bridges were created when changing chips. Good luck, sometimes you just get a bad I.C,Russmann.

Turns on for a second then truns off

The amp is going into a protective state. You either have a bad resistor, capacitor or coil shorting internally in the amp.If you open it up you may be able to tell right off the bat of the bad component as it would be burnt or you will need a meter to troubleshoot it.
