A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: remote control
instructions for rca remote rcr4258 turn the device your want to program on (TV or DVD, whatever). to program it you push the component button you want to program (example: TV).
while holding down the button try your 4 digit code. when you push the first number of the code you are trying, the light will turn off. when you push in the 4th number of your code the light will turn back on if you do not have the correct code. keep holding the device button down and putting in your codes. You must keep the device button pushed. when you have put in the correct code the light will not turn back on with the 4th digit. Instead your device will turn off. The remote always retains the last code entered. Once you do this I suggest you write down the instructions or type then on your computer and save it.
Just had that problem and it worked. Hope this helps anyone who needs this info.

Bad filters on the main board or a bad AUX REMOTE jack on the back of
the unit (also part of the main board) are the cause of this problem.
Try plugging in any jack that will fit into the AUX REMOTE jack on the back and then pulling it back out. This may fix the problem or remove any dust that may have collected in the jack. If this jack has something plugged into it (or goes bad) the TV will no longer have remote control operation (because it thinks an external remote box is being used). If this does not work then the main board will need replaced.
Note, many repair techs will think the IR board is bad (the Infra-Red Receiver board) at the front of the TV, but this is usually not the case with this model.
Hope this helps, please rate my solution.

I read in another forum where Vizio sometimes uses Vidtech codes. I got 0205 to work on my new Vizio V037L with my Verizon FiOS remote (Phillips RC144).

Tips for a great answer:
May 15, 2014 | Motorola Televison & Video
SEARCHING FOR YOUR CODE=irc 551
If your home entertainment device does not respond to
the Star Choice IRC 551 IR and Star Choice URC 551 IR/
UHF Remote Controls after trying all of the codes listed
for your brand, or if your brand is not listed at all, try
searching for your code.
For example, to search for a code for your TV:
1. Turn on your TV.
7. To search for the codes of your other devices,
repeat steps 1 through 5, but substitute the
appropriate key (e.g., AUX, DVD, AUD, or SAT)
for the device you are searching for.
