I have Pioneer AVIC-N4 installed. When I connect an Apple Classic 80GB Ipod, I get error msg AO on the Pioneer. The Ipod has software version 1.1.1 PC. The control screen appears on the Pioneer, but the control buttons do not work. On iTunes, i checked the box for the Ipod which says "enable disk use", but it didn't help. Any suggestions? Vince

I have the EXACT same problem! I even tried different Ipods, updating my Ipod, and still no luck!

  • tileinno Jul 16, 2008

Same deal here I went to car dealer to see what he thought the problem was and he said that it was from new generation nano and plugged his old classic in and worked fine. I bought new classic and I am still getting no playback and error AO. I think it may be an Ipod update error

Woo Hoo! The new iPod firmware update 1.1.2
fixes the video problem with the AVIC N4! I have a 160gb 6th gen iPod
classic that I had to downgrade to firmware 1.0.2 to be able to use it
with my unit... I've been reading around and found out the new 1.1.2
update was out for apple so I decided to give it a shot. It works! I
updated my iPod and hooked it up to my N4 and it works like a charm...
I am able to view movies, tv shows, and music videos! I don't know if
anyone knew this, I've been reading around the forums, but found no
mention of this. I just thought I'd give you guys a heads up.

    Very Happy

It depends on the model of the ipod. the 5th generation ipods with video, 30G or 60G, both work fine even with the last firmware upgrades. I don't believe the last comment before this one where they said they got the 160G 6th gen to work. Its BS.
