Question about SmartDisk FireLite FWFL120 120 GB FireWire 400 (1394a) Hard Drive
My new computer only has 4-pin Firewire connector and 4-pin does not provide power like 6-pin. External SmartDisk FireLite FWFL120 Harddisk has external power input connector but no indications for voltage level or polarity. Manual provided by Verbatim (who bought SmartDisk) does not have power connector information. What external power voltage and polarity is required for FWFL120-N?
Many USB power supplies will have the right plug. I picked one up by buying a cheap USB hub, What you want to look for (most likely on the bottom of the power supply) is VOLTAGE Output: 5.0 VDC, POWER Output: 1.0 amp or (1000ma) and the center hole is the positive side. I have even seen some BluTooth earpiece charges that supply what you need.
Hope that this will help.
