Power going straight to board

That's probably because your power button is damaged, in that kind of cases there is not that much to do or you get the button replacement part from the manufacter or you buy a new case for you CPU.

  • Disconnect all the power supply (battery and power cord) and attachments.

  • connect with the power cord only
  • restart the computer
It seems the video card is not supporting the game's video requirement

Computer freezes right after start up

Try to turn off the laptop. Remove the cables and battery on it , press and hold the power button for 8 secs. Then reinsert the cables and battery on the laptop. Turn it on, then check if the pc freezes up. If it is, check if your keyboard has lights on it. If there is no lights, need to call compaq to replace the motherboard. If keyboard has lights and you dont know how to remove the parts inside your laptop, you still call compaq to replace the power supply or the video card of your laptop.

No video output, and no power down

Check the monitor plug for a pin that has become pushed in. If the pins are good test the monitor with another computer.

Also check for a second monitor output, as the one you are using may not be active.

As far as the power button not working there could be several explanations. The button itself may not work. If when pushed the button turn the computer on, then you may want to check within the bios power management setting to verify the power button is setup to turn the pc off.

ASPIRE 5315 THE PC TURNS ON RUNS BUT NO VIDEO,i tried to use the video out to my flat screen it dont work either

Please try the following steps:

1 Disconnect the battery and the charger
2 Let it sit for 1-2 minutes.
3 Press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds.
4 Connect the charger (don't connect the battery yet) and try to start by pressing the power button.

If everything remain same try to re-seat memory modules.

Turn off the system and disconnect charger.
At the back of the system, you can take out a memory access cover to access the memory modules.

If you have more than one modules connected, test the system with a single module at a time.

LCD Flatron 21inch going into power save mode problem

this is not a problem with the monitor, it looks as your computer is not sending any video signals to the monitor thus it goes into saving mode. Take a look at the computer, check the video card. Pull it out then turn it on, turn it off again and place the video card where it should go then turn the PC on again. This should clue the OS to re-configure the video driver. Did you try another monitor ?

Dv6120us power button dont work

None of the buttons will work untill the power is turned on and no sound will be heard.
You might want to try charging the battery by connecting the AC adapter to the laptop and plugging it into the wall outlet.
With the AC adapter connected, try powering up the laptop.
I hope this helps.
Good Luck.
