DO NOT LET THIS UNIT CONTINUE TO RUN WHEN THE FAN IS NOT RUNNING. IT WILL RUIN THE COMPRESSOR. MOST LIKELY, THE FAN MOTOR IS BAD AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.IF YOU HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING ELSE TO THE UNIT TO CAUSE A PROBLEM, BEFORE REPLACING THE MOTOR, CHECK IT TO MAKE SURE IT IS NOT COVERED IN DIRT. IF IT IS, JUST WIPE IT ALL OFF WITH A RAG MAKING SURE YOU CLEAR THE AIR HOLES ON THE MOTOR. ALSO, SOME MOTORS HAVE OIL HOLES (2). YOU COULD ALSO TRY OILING IT BEFORE YOU REPLACE THE MOTOR.

Correct, condenser coils remove heat from the freezer compartment, thusly they will be hot. Sounds like the compressor is failing and that is probably giving off a squealing sound and stops running until it stops. Then your compressor will overheat and stop running until the thermal protector cools down and allows it to run again. Try replacing the compressor cooling fan.

My vinotemp vt60 starts cooling then stops

I sounds to me like the compressor is overheating. There is an overload on the compressor itself. Follow the wires where they go into the compressor. There will be a black wire going from the power cord to the overload. These can be purchased at appliance parts stores. Make sure there is no dirt build up on condenser coils or a kink in the tubing.

Condenser Fan Shuts off after 15-20min, Compressor continues to run but gets hot

Condenser fan motor or motor wiring is bad. That compressor should never run without the fan. Good luck.

Compressor gets very hot

The compressor has a start device that could be the problem. If you remove it it should not rattle if it does it is very likely the problem. If it doesn't rattle then it could be your compressor. Check the start device first. it is located directly on the side of the compressor. and is easy to remove and install anoter.

My pacr10 blows air but compressor wont kick on

sounds like a blockage in the refrigerant circuit, the compressor is shutting down, protecting itself. possibly the compressor is overheating, possibly it's overcharged.

The compressor may be short cycling due to a condenser fan stopping while the compressor is running. The heat you feel is coming from the hot gas cycling through what is called a yoder loop. The yoder loop is there to prevent moisture buildup around the door seal. When this area becomes hot it means that something is wrong with the cooling fan below the refrigerator and cleaning the area may help. Please be aware that the fan may appear to be running normally but keep an eye out after cleaning because a bad fan does not always stop all the way and I have made up to three trips before catching one that has stopped. Always unplug the power before attempting to reach inside the compressor area. Feel compressor top to see if warm, hot or too hot to keep hand on top. Again this problem can be the condenser fan, dirty condenser restricting air flow or the start components of the compressor are worn out or all of the above. Fixing this now may extend your refrigerators life another 10 years. If you have any questions I will be here to assist you, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Amana Cooling Condensing Unit fan won't kick on

be aware that not repairing this asap that you are causing yourself more problems First I would change out the fan capacitor and see if this could be the problem. Secondly if the capacitor isn,t the problem change out the motor . By continuing to allow the system to cycle like this the compressor will take a dive on you costing more . Good Luck

Fan stops

The cooling fan for the condenser is probably running, getting hot and seizing up. Check to see if the fan is free spinning after it stops. Take a probe and try to spin it manually. If it turns freely, then it could be going bad with it's electrical windings, the internal coils that create the magnetic field that spins the rotor of the fan motor. I suspect it is seizing up, however, once a fan seizes up, it usually stays that way and won't spin even after it cools down. It could be a capacitor that is going bad and not starting the fan after it gets hot. A capacitor is a small round shaped can type with usually 2 wires hooked in series with the motor it is trying to start. That is what it does, help start the device (compressor or fan motor). Good luck.Ken from Henderson NV.

Refrigerator not colling properly

Let it run until you have a problem again then look at the back wall of the inside of the freezer, if there is frost then it's not defrosting and that would be your problem (usually the defrost heater). If you don't see frost then you need to determine if the compressor is running or not. It's possible to hear the two fans run, but not the compressor. If the compressor is running, along with the 2 fans, then it is a sealed system problem and usually not worth fixing. If it's not running you'll need to check the compressor start relay on the side of the compressor. It is possible for a bad compressor to cause the relay to fail, so replacing it may or may not get you going again.

Constantly running

If the thermistor sensor for the temperature control is going out that could cause the compressor the think it needs to keep running to cool the unit. The fan near the compressor should run only when the compressor runs. If the fan is running and the compressor isn't then you likely have a compressor start device problem or the overload is tripping from high heat, etc. That would make the compressor run (or try to) every minute or two if not just run continuously. Make sure all the coils under the unit are clean of fuzzy's and hair, etc. by doing a good vac. clean on them also. The compressor can be slightly warm to the touch but shouldn't be so hot that it is hard to keep you r hands on it for long. If it's around 130 degrees F, then it may be the start device problem and is in an overheat condition.
