Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How to retrieve voice mail from the handset

Not all models can access their answering system from the handset, and voicemail from the phone company/service provider is totally different from an answering system. First be sure which you are looking for, phone company voicemail (ask the service provider what their methods/password/etc. are) or telephone set answering system (see the manual for your make/model: the model number is most easily found in the handset under the battery) -- try asking at www.manualslib.com if you need a copy of the manual. Good luck!

How do you check your voicemail on a VTech cordless phone

The cordless phone pictured appears to be a VTech CS6114
and an Answering Machine System is not part of this phone.

** BUT ** an Answering Machine System is not the same
as "VoiceMail" anyway.

VoiceMail is an option offered by some (not all) telephone
service providers, and each of those who do offer the feature
employ specific procedures unique to themselves.

Check with your Telephone Service Provider to see if you
do have a VoiceMail service activated and how to go about
using it.

Per the CS6114 User Manual, the display indication shown,
"New VoiceMail", will be removed from the cordless phone
handset when you have accessed the providers' VoiceMail
system and played/cleared the messages.

If the alert display persists, it can be cleared from the handset
by the following (tested on my own cs6114 phone):
===========================
press [menu]
scroll to "Settings"
press [select]
scroll to "Clr voicemail"
press [select]
display reads "Reset VM Icon?"
press [select]
phone will (chirp)
press [off ] [off ]
===========================
Good luck!

Voicemail

The D1660 isn't an answering machine or a voicemail system. Please refer to the instructions for whatever answering machine/voicemail system you have on your phone line.

If you require further assistance feel free to repost your question, but please specify the make and model of the answering machine/voicemail system.

Can get the red light to stop blinking

You have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone service provider. This system records messages when people call while you're already on the phone (or don't answer the call). Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

How do i listen to my messages

First of all, thank you very much for choosing FIXYA today for your online technical support needs.

Here is a direct link to the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for that model:

http://dl.owneriq.net/b/bae696d6-433a-4338-b9c8-8eb862502517.pdf

To view the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and blue highlighted section of text just above.

This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the contents of the Owner's Manual.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents, although many computers already have this type of utility pre-installed.

You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary. Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, then follow the onscreen instructions to install the software on your computer.

Unfortunately, your particular phone does NOT have a built in answering machine, so you either have a separate device for handling messages or you have a Voicemail Service supplied by your local phone service provider. Depending on which you have, you will either have to find the model number and user's manual for your separate answering machine, or contact your local phone service provider for instructions on how to access and operate their particular VOICEMAIL system.

Many Voicemail systems are accessed by just lifting the receiver and dialing *98 (STAR symbol then 98), then entering your previously selected passcode when prompted. However, the exact procedure may be slightly different in your area.

I truly hope that was helpful to you.

Good luck and take care.

How do I set up voicemail for my Uniden DECT 6.0? does my phone co. do that, or can I buy an answering machine?

That depends. Some Uniden DECT 6.0 systems include an answering machine. Since you declined to specify the model of yours, select it from the list beginning here to download the manual.
Many telephone companies provide a voicemail service on their hardware so you don't have to buy any equipment. Since you declined to specify your phone company, you'll have to contact them for additional information.
If all else fails, then yes, you can buy an answering machine. You should be able to find a selection at just about any department, electronics, or office-supply store.

Have a message about i have a new voicemail how do i check this not sure if i even have vm on my phone

The 6041 isn't an answering machine, so no, you don't have voicemail on the phone. If you're subscribed to a voicemail service offered by your telephone company, the phone is most like compatible with it and the phone is telling you that you have new voicemail. Please contact the telephone company for instructions on accessing their system.

KG-TG6641 I can make and receive telephone calls. However, my answering machine, unless picked up in 5 rings, goes to a Mailbox: and shuts off,

Here is a direct link to the User's Manual for your model of phone:

http://www.manualowl.com/m/Panasonic/KXTG6641/Manual/196702

To view the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the contents of the Owner's Manual.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents.
You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary.
Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, then follow the onscreen instructions to install the software on your computer.

See page 38 of the manual for complete instructions on HOW TO OPERATE THE ANSWERING SYSTEM feature of your phone.

Ensure that your mailbox is not already completely full of messages, in which case new callers will not be permitted to leave a message and will be directed to call back later. Your phone can hold a maximum of 64 messages or 18 minutes worth. See page 38 of the manual for complete details.

Also make sure that you do not have a VOICEMAIL feature from your telephone service provider enabled at the same time. This would be completely separate from the answering machine built into your phone and would be controlled separately. If this voicemail feature is set to pick up in less rings than your phone's answering machine, then it will intercept all the calls you don't pick up instead of them going to the phone's answering machine. You would have to consult your telephone service provider for details on how to access and operate their particular VOICEMAIL service.

Please comment back here to this page if you have any details to add, have any questions, have difficulty accessing the links, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.

I hope that was helpful to you, good luck and take care.

Joe.
