Question about Tomtom ONE GPS Receiver

1 Answer

The touchscreen acts like it is locked up. It will not go to any option that I touch. E.g.: "Home", "Recent Destination", "Address" and it will not move to the next screen when I touch the arrow.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

HOW TO YOU ERASE ADDRESS YOU NO LONGER NEED

My GO 950 offers a button "Delete" in the "Recent Destination" list. Open the Tomtom menu and select Navigate to... ---> Recent Destination, and touch the button. After confirmation, this will delete all entries in the list.

Older versions of the NavCore software installed on the device, or other TomTom devices may not have this button, or you may want to delete selected entries only. This is not supported using the device's built-in software or the Tomtom HOME PC solution.

However, there is a third party shareware program "POIEdit" that (among other things) does the trick. If you like the software, you may want to donate a small amount of money to the author.

Borrowed this from my boss, no in instructions and cant figure out how to set my home address!

It's a little limiting not knowing the brand, but for most devices, you can enter an address under a "Go To" feature. It will ask for your city and state first, then street name, then house number. If your device doesn't give you an option to set that as home at that point, you can always find it under "recent". So in that case, you would touch "Go To" then "Recent" instead of "Home", "Address" or whatever other options your device gives you. Hope that helps.

Quite simple:
Instead of using 'Navigate to' option, use the 'Change preferences' then select 'Change Home Location' and re-enter the correct address via 'Address' or 'Recent destination'.

Wrong address?

More than likely your house number is not in the data base. I have the same problem. What I have done is when you want to setup your tt home address go where you get full bars and are ready to navigate. Go to set home address and tap current location as your home address.
Hope this helps.

When I arive at my destination. How do I return to my start destination? Do I have to reenter my start destination?

When you go to the screen to input the address it should have a recent locations option, if not you need to re-enter the adress.

Changing home address

  • Tap the screen to bring up the menu
  • Tap the 'Change preferences' icon
  • Tap the arrow to the right to the 'Change home location' icon (looks like a house with a spanner)
  • Choose the best option to identify your address (postcode, address, recent destination, etc)

How to program a destination

In general, once you key in an address and then select a route, the name/route will be saved in "recent destinations." If you want to use that destination, just select it. If you want to add it to "Favorites", then select "Add Favorite" and all your recent destinations will appear. Select the one you want and rename it: E.g., instead of "220 W. Walnut St." rename it "Grandma's House" and it is set.
