Try cleaning the area in the slide area with alchohol. Most of these jambs occue when something sticky has gotten into the slide mechanism.

If it is mechanically jambed and will not move regardless of what you do, then you may have to break the flat tab off exposing the slide release mechanism inder it. Once the slot is exposed, just stick a screwdriver or similar tool into it and move the slide to one side, releasing the battery. I have found that if you try to use too much force in pushing the release tab with a flat edged tool, you will indeed snap that tab off.

Try pushing down on the battery and then at the same time try pushing the tab over to the release side.

How do I remove/replace the keyboard from a HP Pavillion dv7-2277cl

1. Remove 6 screws from the bottom of the case (as shown). These screws hold the accessory cover.

2. Remove one screw securing the CD/DVD drive. Slide the CD/DVD drive to the left to disconnect it from the motherboard. Remove the CD/DVD drive.

3. Remove all marked screws from the bottom of the notebook.
The yellow circled screws secure the keyboard cover, and the green one secures the HP Pavilion DV7 keyboard.

4. Turn the computer display-side up and open it as far as possible. Insert a guitar pick or small flat screwdriver between the keyboard cover and case and slowly move along the side.

5. Lift the keyboard cover. Be careful, it's still connected to the motherboard. Release the zero insertion force (ZIF) connector and disconnect the cable from the LED board. Remove the keyboard cover.

6. Remove the four screws that secure the HP Pavilion DV7 keyboard.

7. Lift the rear edge of the HP Pavilion DV7 keyboard until it rests at an angle. Slide the keyboard back to disengage the tabs on the front edge of the keyboard from the top cover and rest it on the display.

8. Release the ZIF connector to which the keyboard cable is attached and disconnect the keyboard cable. Remove the HP Pavilion DV7 keyboard.

I am unable to get the old battery out of the remote for hp pavillion dv 1000

Usually there are a few small screws holding the cover. The battery is located under the computer. Remove the screws and slide the cover off. You should be able to see the battery now. Just pop it out with a finger or two.

Battery release latch locked in open -hp pavilion dv4 1313dx

The same thing happened to my HP laptop. The sliding lock mechanism relies on three little hooks to hold the battery in place. What had happened to mine was that one of the hooks (the one nearest to the switch) had gotten stuck (this is quite difficult to explain, but just examine the three little hooks closely and you'll notice it the difference.) I freed it simply by pushing it with my thumb to unsnag it. The battery is now securely back in place, where it will stay!

Battery release slide broke off

You can probably release it with a medium crochet hook or a small screwdriver. Make sure the screwdriver doesn't have any sharp edges. You will have to fish around to get hold of the linkage.

Memory upgrade in HP Pavillion dv4130us laptop

In addition to the slider, you will see a small slider that has a picture of a lock on it. You need to slide it to the unlocked position before trying to release the battery.
As I recall, there are 2 panels on the bottom of the machine. One should have a graphic representation of memory, but every manufacturer seems to use a different picture. Best solution--open one and if that's not it, try another! You can't hurt anything.
