Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional With Servise Pack 2 (e8503040) for PC
I was trying to setup a printer's port to a hot folder so the file and be dropped into it and be picked up by other apps. This is XP sp3. But I can't find it only STANDARD TCP/IP AND LOCAL are available. Other computers have this port type. Should I install this type of port from WinXP disk?
Thanks a lot.
There's no such thing in plain Windows XP as a 'hotfolder port'. There's a special "FILE:" port which redirects the output to a file (and asks for the filename every time).
If your other machines have such port, it means it has been created together with an installation of some specific printer (or virtual printer) driver. You must establish what the driver is and install it on your machine as well.
