Pump the primer bulb on the carburetor at least 7 times....set choke lever ( the yellow lever on the air cleaner) to the down start position....pull start handle till it fires....let machine run for about 30 to 45 seconds before you open the throttle to give it a chance to warm up....that's it !!! ;-D

Cut line the proper lengh feed thru until both sides are equal start trimming and the line will not feed

You are describing a problem that could be related to the line being too big for your trimmer. It should say what size trimmer line to use in your manual. It may even say on the piece that the line winds around; but you have to look very close

If your line is .080 it may be too big. You should probably use .065

How do I change the oil filter on my troy built 4 cycle trimmer

You do not have one. Like 4-cycle push mower engines, these are splash lubricated. They lack a full-flow/pressure oiling system. When the oil gets dirty, dump it out and refill to proper specifications. Do this every 20 hours on this trimmer and it will stay happy for a long time.

Are you using the proper size line? Check the ends of the spool. It will give you the size you need. Also while you are checking, locate the arrow that shows the direction to wind the line. Hope this is of some help...Lee

My trimmer stopped working in the middle of trimming my yard. I now can no longer pull start my Ryobi Trimmer (ry30550). Cord seems to be stuck.

Did you have the proper fuel/oil mix? I just had one that had the piston seize in the cylinder. After taking it apart and loosening the piston, I made sure of the mix and now it runs okay. You may have to get some gaskets that will break during dismantle. Hope this helps...Lee

Ryobi weed trimmer

check the fuek lines for hole and leaks, check the fuel filter and clean if necessary. remove the carbuerator and inspect the gasket; it should be soft and flexible, if it seems hard or brittle replace it. clean the carb with carb cleaner sray (available at any local auto parts store) and compressed air. make sure you get inside the small fuel rail holes. also check the primer bulb for pin holes and proper seating/seal. i
