Question about Lands Phones

Open Question

I have a new Presidian phone model number 43-262 with answering machine. It has been charged for the past 48 hours. After connecting it to the phone line both saying ( searching ) and no dial tone. what should I do to get connected and setup the answering machine. thank you in advance for all your help.

SOURCE: phone won't connect

I had the same problem. I unplugged the base unit for several minutes. When I plugged it back in, the base unit reset itself and the handsets reset themselves to the base unit. You will have to reset the clock and any other features you use. My phone is a model E5908. Hope this works for you. Goos luck.

I unplugged the base unit and took a battery out of the handset. I then put the battery back in the handset and replugged the base unit. This corrected the problem.

I searched for ages before I found the solution to this. Just plug the 2nd handset into the base station as though you were charging it. You'll see the red light in front flicker for a few seconds. Wait five seconds after it goes solid red again and remove it. Press the "find phone" button on the front of the base station. If both phones beep, you're all set. If not, rinse and repeat.

Have you tried plugging and then plugging the phone back in. This should discharge all static electricity.
I had the same trouble once. If you are using a service such as Comcast Digital Voice, then restart all equipment (this apply's to VOIP services also). if it still persist then try a different phone. If it still persist then contact your phone company and explain all the solutions that you have tried.

I have charged the base and the two hand sets for 48 hrs. This is a new unit. No dial tone/communication to any unit.


1st-check the intercom function of the units. No intercom recheck the battery connections ,look for a clear tape on them & remove. Recharge batteries.2nd- Intercom OK. Check base connection to wall phone jack. Interconnect phone cable may be bad. Good luck. Have a nice day.

My jumpstart system does not charge past level two. (only the second light comes on.) I have charged it for 48 hours and nothing. The compressor does not come on either.

Don't panic this is quite normal.
Even when you are not using the phone it is still on and actively connected to your service network. Therefore using battery power.

Actually to get 48 hours from your handset is very good.
Normally you would have to re-charge the 81xx series at least every 24 hours.
I was charging mine every 12-14 hours.

Phone not charging even with new batteries


Reboot your phone system. I'm not kidding. Unplug base from power and phone line for 1/2 hour and unplug battery from phone.
