Sys Init Error - Halt - But I want it to skip All Errors

We have quite a few Tyan's at my web hosting job. A few of them boot up with System Init Error - Do you want to Continue or Edit Setup.

I want it to continue automatically. I have set Halt On Error to No Errors but it still halts on this error, where all you have to do is his continue on the box and it boots normally.

map9966, I appreciate the reply here - This is actually a web server running Linux. I'd also rather not re-format the box but I can bring it down to go into BIOS or run updates. Any other ideas?

Darian69, windows did not setup correctly. Double check all data cables & power cable connections. (Tight fits).
(This is not an uncommon error). Please download the manufactures drive utility software for a bootable floppy disk or bootable cdrom disk. Test/check & setup the drive, (formatt). Than install windows. Once installed, turn on windows firwall & install nic driver software. Run windows update. Check for hardware updates & install. This should fix the system halt.

Please let me know if this stopped the error message.

No sorry, this is a common issue with win98.

Suggest you repost & make sure you mention the system runs

Linux. The more info you post the better are your chances a tech can help.

    Have a good day!

When a PC boots it searches for system files such as command.com,io.sys,msdos.sys. So, if you do not have the bootable files in your usb drive your PC will never boot from usb drive.

Chassis Intruded, Fatal Error...System Halted

you need to go into the bios of your pc.....usually pressing the delete key when you see the first logo screen after booting up....look for a section that relates to errors and what the bios is supposed to do when it encounters an error.
i.e if you see a line in the bios that says "halt on all errors" disable it and when you next boot up the bios will not stall.

Problem with my DG31 chipset

Your motherboard may be failing. Sometimes when motherboards or ram fail they have a problem with dropping parts of files. However it would not hurt to get a new copy of xp pro and try that first.

Erratic behavior - system halts with blue screen with error codes

sounds like serious memory errors. download and boot to "memtest86" to terst your ram for errors, but it may also be the memory controller.

you can try also to swap slots between the memory sticks and see if it works better with the sticks swapped.

Cannot install any Windows OS system

My first course of action would be to isolate the problem. So what i would do is un hook one of the 500 gb Sata drives. Then try to install on one. Once you get it up and running hook the second one up and let windows find it. Also another note of thumb is make sure you have not over exceeded your ram slot capabilities. Find the techical manual on the manufactures web site. Each ram slot has a max amount and speed. If you exceed these it can cause windows programs to halt. I do think that if you isolate down to one sata drive install your os then add your second Sata you should be good to go. If you are still having problems feel free to contact me. TechWizard
