If it is a connection issue then, then connect your speaker in then back ports of the of the motherboard, connect in green slot circle.

It might be a sound drivers problem, sometime windows XP or Vista does not install the sound drivers automatically , you need to place the installation CD which you get along with the motherboard and install the sound drivers

Ok, I bought some Gigaware speakers (8watt GigaWare 2.0 2/bass subwoofer) and they work just fine, playing internet content and MP3s- until I try to play a DVD. Then, one channel of the audio disappears-...

A couple of things I would check first..

Obviously the settings on the movie audio settings themselves.. the default may be dts or some such thing.

Next.. open the control panel. clik on Sound.. make sure you check all the settings.. clik on the speaker icon and clik configure..

Also check the settings via your sound card software interface.. it sounds like something is set to something other than simple Stereo.. like 5.1 or 7.1 etc.

I doubt it's the dvd player itself.. or the dvd.. more than likely it is a simple conflict in one of the above settings

Good luck

Sound is noy hear

check to see that the sound is not muted, see the little speaker icon in the system tray on the lower left hand side of your windows desktop on the task bar. try to increase the volume.

if not go to control panel, sounds and audio devices, there on the volume tab, if it grayed out then you need to reinstall the sound drivers , if not just increase the volume.
