How do I unlock my camera and camcorder?

hi,
i think it is because of your SD card that is on "record protected" position...
just change it to non protected by moving the tiny lock on the left side it must be up, not down (that arrives sometime when inserting the SD card in the cam, if not really straight !
cheers

Camcorder sd card locked

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Accidentally switched my sandisk memory to 'lock'

Locking the card simply protects it from writes. It does not wipe out anything that was on it already.

If you're asking about a Memory Stick, there's a switch on the back. Slide it away from the "LOCK" position. If you're asking about an SD card, there's a switch on the side. Slide it toward the metal contacts.

I was given this rca handheld camcorder as a gift and it keeps saying card lock i have tried every thing is there a special card i have to buy i have tried 3 different brands

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
Since you're getting this with multiple cards, it's quite possible there's something wrong with the switch sensor inside the camcorder's card slot.

I am trying to record and when I press the shutter button a nessege comes up on display window that says card is locked.

Take the memory card out of teh camcorder and look at it. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

How to download photos from camcorder to computer

Your camera records photos on card. So, eject the card, put it onto any card reader, and simply copy your images onto PC.
Second tip - download or install USB driver for Your cam. After installing, connect it to PC. Your card appears like a new disc on Your system. Then copy photos.
Be careful! Don´t unplug the cam. Eject it from windows safely! And during transfer unplugging the card means data loss!
Good luck!

In card position

check the SD card and see if the little tab on the side of it is slid to the position that says "lock" If you cant see the words, try just switching the tab to the other side. Since SD means Secure Digital, these cards wont do anything if the lock tab is not in the right position.
