To be able to scan a picture from your printer, your printer I suppose has a scan. Connect the printer to your system and power on the printer and system. I also want to assume that the printer driver and scanner software have been install. Face the picture you want to scan down on the scanner bed, lunch the scanner software and save the picture to the folder provided of choose a location to save the picture. If you can see the scan software and you are using windows 7, go to devices and printer and luch the scanner from there or you can click start, all prorams, windows fax and scan.

How do i scan a document from my c3180?

Here are the steps to scan documents to your computer

1. Turn on your computer, wait for it to boot up, then turn on your printer.
2. Locate the " HP Photo and Imaging Director " icon on your computer and double click it.
This icon was placed there when you installed your printer.
3. After double clicking on the icon, a menu screen will appear showing the scanning options
available on your C3180 printer.
4. Place your document or picture on the printer's glass top and close the lid.
5. Click on the appropriate selection from the menu screen ( Scan Document or Scan Picture )
6. The scanning process will now take place. The scanner will make two passes. The first pass
will allow you to judge the accuracy of the scan and to make changes, if necessary, from your.
monitor. The second pass is the acceptance of the document/picture to the computer.
7. Scanned documents can be viewed in the " My Documents " folder, scanned pictures can be
viewed in the HP Photo Gallery and the My Pictures folder.

I hope this was of help to you.

When you scan a picture with hp officejet 6500 wireless, how do you get the picture to your computer? I see that the printer is scanning the picture, but I don't know how to get it to my computer.

To get it to your PC you must use a program to scan the picture. You can use Word to scan the picture by going to File and the Import. Import from Scanner.

Scan an original to a computer
You can scan originals placed on the glass by using the control panel.
To scan to a computer
1.
Load your original print side down on the right front corner of the glass.
2. Press Scan Menu.
3. Press OK to select the default application to receive the scan, or press to select a
different application, and then press OK.
A preview image of the scan appears on your computer, where you can edit it.
4. Make any edits to the preview image, and then click Accept when you are finished.

Scanning

In order to scan, the computer HAS to be ON. The purpose of scanning is making a DIGITAL copy of what ever you have on hardcopy. Which means, you should have saved it on the computer. And if the SCANNER is off, you can still access the scanned picture or item. However, the computer CANNOT be off, as that is where the picture should have been stored.

Any other questions?

PS to find the picture you have saved, go into the search for files and folders for a PC, and type in the name you saved it under. If you don't remember the name, look under the folder where the scanned copy is. I would look under your printer icon and its folder. Good luck!
