Question about Apple iPod nano

1 Answer

I had forgotten my ipod password. This is what I did to unlock it: I connected the ipod to my computer. I went to ipod control I renamed _locked to _unlocked I ejected the ipod I was able to open the ipod Now, I would like to know how to create a new password. Another expert said: Go to -Extras, then select Screen Lock. - On a new combination screen, enter a combination using the Click Wheel. - Confirm the combination This does not work. To create a new password requires the old password. It requires the old password which I do not know, although I have been able to open the ipod. I have been to itunes on my computer. There are no files there. There is nothing that says connected or start. What do I do now?

Hello,

there are to options by which you can unblock the ipod. Follow any of the procedures tomorrow.
Unlock with the Primary Computer

  1. Plug the iPod into the primary computer linked to that iPod, the first computer you synchronized it with unless you have designated another computer as the primary computer.
  2. Open itunes and sync the iPod as normal.
  3. Remove the iPod, following the normal removal procedure. The iPod unlocks automatically as you remove it.
Unlock by Restoring
  1. Restore the iPod to factory settings if you do not have access to your primary computer. This erases all of the data you have stored on the iPod.
  2. Plug your iPod into the new computer you want to be the primary computer. Open iTunes and click on the "Restore" button.
  3. Reload your data, if it is available and sync your iPod. Remove it following normal procedures.
Good luck.

Although the second generation iPod Nano (also known as 2G) uses a four-digit pass code that prevents unauthorized access to your iPod by locking the screen, you can also unlock the device by plugging it into your computer's USB 2.0 port.
When the 2G iPod Nano is connected to the computer it is synchronized, and automatically unlocks the screen according to the official Apple site.
In order to successfully unlock the Nano it must be plugged into the primary computer used for synchronizing content.

Click "Start," "All Programs" and "iTunes" on your PC's desktop, or click "iTunes" on the Macintosh's desktop dock.
Plug the iPod Nano's cable into the docking port on the iPod Nano.
Plug the other end into the USB port on the computer to open iTunes.
Click "Controls" at the top of the iTunes' menu, and select "Eject iPod."
The iPod Nano's screen will be unlocked once it is ejected from your computer.

b> Launch the iTunes program on your computer and click "Help" on the main menu. Scroll down and click "Check for updates." Close iTunes. Connect your iPod to the computer using the supplied USB cable. Launch iTunes, which will display your iPod on the left panel. Right-click your iPod in the iTunes program and click "Eject." Close iTunes and detach your player from the computer to unlock it. Restoring your iPod Connect your player to the computer and launch iTunes. Click your iPod on the left panel and click the "Summary" tab. Click "Restore." Click "Backup" to save your current settings and select the restore option you want to use.
