Question about Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop

Canoscan LiDE 100 on WinXP loaded drivers+software from disk

When I plug scanner in all I get is USB device not recognised. Tried all ports. Tried a new lead, as Lide 100 is powered by USB lead. No joy. HELP!

Install the device driver before you plug in the scanner if that does nothing then update the drivers for your laptops chipset and USB this fixes this problem most of the time, if its doesnt try the following:
Method 1: Initiate recognition of the USB device by using Device Manager loadTOCNode(2, 'workaround'); To initiate recognition of the USB device by using Device Manager, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, click Run, type Devmgmt.msc, and then click OK. The Device Manager window opens.
  2. Click to select your computer as the location for the scan.
  3. On the Action menu, click Scan for hardware changes.

    Windows XP recognizes the new device.
  4. Close the Device Manager window.
If this method resolves the issue, you are finished.

If this method does not resolve the issue, go to method 2.
Method 2: Disable power management of the USB hub loadTOCNode(2, 'workaround'); Note If you perform the following procedure, you may also reduce the battery life on a portable computer.

Use this method if method 1 does not work. To disable power management of the USB hub, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type Devmgmt.msc, and then click OK. The Device Manager window opens.
  2. Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
  3. Right-click a USB Root Hub in the list, and then click Properties. The USB Root Hub Properties dialog box is displayed.
  4. Click the Power Management tab.
  5. Click to clear the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box, and then click OK.
  6. Repeat steps 3 through 6 for each USB Root Hub in the list.
  7. On the Action menu, click Scan for hardware changes.

    Windows XP recognizes the new device.
  8. Close the Device Manager window.

I connected canoscan lide 100 scanner but scan unit is not moving & Bulb also is not glowing


Make sure the scanner usb and power leads are securely seated
the drivers for the scanner might have been corrupted
you might have to uninstall the scanner restart your computer then reinstall your scanner

if your printer/scanner came with an installation disc the drivers could be on it

click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll to ports(COM&LPT) + to expand you should see a communication port and Ecp printer port you might see a yellow Question/exclamation ? ! mark or a red X this will mean you need to install a new driver for this device right click to update driver
select properties again you will have the similiar options also have option to troubleshoot

When i install canoscan lide 25 flatbed scanner i try to start my xp computer back up and it takes up to 5 minuets


Those 5 minutes are (1) WinXP trying (and failing) to locate the driver for your Canoscan flatbed scanner, or (2) WinXP perceives that your installation of the flatbed scanner driver failed, and
WinXP is performing a (5 minute long) System Restore to correct the problem.

The Fix to both problems: download (free) updated driver from www.canon.com

Lost setup disk to Canoscan LiDE 100 scanner, want to install


Hi,

You can download the installation driver and software from manufacturer's support website by clicking this link

On the page which opens, select the operating system of your computer (Windows Xp/ Vista..) from the drop-down menu. Then download the required drivers and software.

The list of available drivers will load only after selecting the operating system of the computer.

I've installed the software for a canoscan lide 100 scanner. whatever USB port I use for the scanner, my pc says it's not installed


but your computer see device attached? If not thne you have problem with the usb cable. If you computer see the device, then try to update your driver for your operating system

Canoscan Lide 30 - want to use on laptop running XP Pro


Did you restart your computer after you downloaded your drivers and software? Did you select the correct operating system? Make sure the USB cable is plugged into the computer and the scanner...Open the toolbox and click scan or save and check to see if the scanner makes any noise or lights up...If you are using Windows XP then make sure you have downloaded the "TWAIN" driver and the "WIA" driver (two seperate downloads)

Driver for canoscan LIDE 500F


Here is link to driver. Click on External Mirror 1 to download. Disconnect scanner from usb before downloading and installing the software, connect back only when required by scanner software or after installation.
