Question about Barbeques Galore Turbo STS 4-Burner Built-in (NG) Grill

1 Answer

The first burner seems to burn very low and not very hot

The next two burners seem to flame a bit much. Do i just need to clean them or should i consider replacing all four burners? The unit is slightly over two years old. Of course, the store where i bought the unit is out of business.

Thanks Doug----will take that approach. The grill is the stainless model, but not sure about the burners.

Hello,
If it was me, I would, first try to clean them and see if that improves the flames. During the course of cleaning you can determine if the burners are corroded and needing replacement or just caked up and dirty. Are the burners stainless steel or cast iron? Cast iron lasts longer, and tends to get smaller in flames when it's seams corrode shut. Plus it is easier to clean. Stainless steel tends to corrode and fall apart, causing flare ups and unsafe use. My dryers smells like its burning and inside when drying gets really too hot. The air vent going outside is clean. I took off the casing and cleaned the inside of the dryer. The belt seems like its ok....

Lint burns quickly and rarely holds a flame long enough to cause a fire hazard. Metal burning would probably indicate friction on spinning metal, like the motor shaft, or the drum rollers. Plastic/rubber are usually parts that are intended to wear, and can usually be replaced.

Along with the belt, you should also check the idler pulley that takes up the slack in the belt, as well as any drum rollers or nylon glides on the top of the dryer door where the drum rides. Metal, plastic, and lint have distinct smells, and you should be able to determine which one(s) you have by smell.

Lint is a common burner in dryers, and it seems you've looked in some of the obvious places it can accumulate. When you have the cover off, pay special attention to the burner area, and any ducts from the lint screen area. Also, any gaps in insulation where air flows could cause hot spots in the unit. If you can see the flame while its running, make sure its size is not excessive. Flames should not be too low or too high, and should not escape the burner housing.

If you notice soot buildup, your gas/air mixture is off. If you've switched from natural to bottled gas or vice-versa, you may need to swap the burner orifices to match the different pressures of the gas fuel.

Grill does not get hot enough. Which seem like low gas flow. One burner does not light

Yes, it is probably low gas flow. I assume you feel comfortable that there's a reasonable amount of gas in the tank.

Here's what you need to do. Turn OFF the LP Tank Valve and disconnect the hose from the tank. Wait 5 minutes. While you're waiting lift out the tank. Does it feel as heavy as it should? Or does it feel lighter than it should? If it feels lighter, you're either very low or have run out of gas.

In either case, here's what you need to do when you reinstall that tank or a new one. Attach the hose to the tank. Turn the tank valve On VERY, VERY SLOWLY ( I'm talking slow motion). Once the valve is fully open, light the burner that's farthest from the tank and turn it to the highest setting. Does the burner flame look correct? If it does, light the next burner and turn it to high and continue doing that until all the burners have been lighted. If the first burner flame doesn't look correct after you lit it. Turn the tank OFF and repeat what you did previously. If it still fails to produce the right flame heights, either the venturri valves on each burner are clogged or the regulator is locked up.. You will have to remove the burners to clean them. If that fails to solve your problem, buy a new grill hose and regulator. You can purchase it at either Lowe's or Home Depot or your local hardware store. Just be sure to take yours with you, so that you can get the right length and brass fitting size matches.

I'm sure this will solve your problem. Please be kind enough to let me know.

Charcoal and grease build up can restrict even the best gas burners , my suggestion is to clean your gas burners with a burner tip tool . You can purchase these at Lowes or Menards . Here is a website for you to visit to get the ideal . http://www.metaltech.com.sa/victor/tips.htm

Furnace seems loud when burners ignite like a small "woof" didnt always do that seems to be something new. Checked all venting nothing obstructed. Had gas presure checked it is LP input is 10...

Depending on the age of the unit the gas pressures should be fine. The first thing I would do is to give the burners a thorough cleaning and make sure pilot is clean if so equipped. I would shut furnace off and remove the burners for easier and better cleaning. Use a wire brush to lightly clean openings on the burners, and gently tap inlet end of burners on soft wood block or thick cardboard pad to clean soot and rust from inside the burners. Also blow out with air if you can.
I always do one burner at a time and put them back in the order they were removed in. When you get everything back together and furnace lit then you can loosen retaing screws on air baffles if needed to get the best looking cleanest flame possible.Flames should be tight on the top of the burners with nice blue flame with sharparrow points with just a little yellow on the very tip.
I hope this helps you. Thank you

Fire inside burner

Hi looked on the wedsite it sounds like the air mixture is wrong casuing it to light back on to the injector (ORFICE) A slong as the orfice is clean and the burner is not blocked then the screw on the burner should adjust the air flow , turn it out as far as it will go with the burner on adjustthe srcew keep tuning slowly in , if it lights back it might make you jump but it won't do any harm , its just getting the mixture right, try this and see if it works ,

I have a ducane 1200. The flame is low and does

Hello. Your burners may be dirty or they may be burned out. Take a close look at them and brush as much crud away as you can before you make that determination. If the holes in the burners are misshapen or the burner has eroded to the point where there are extra holes in it, then I would replace it. Regards, Joe

Whirlpool stove top- two problems. 1) burner is not burning hot, low flame 2) igniter on different burner doesnt work, no spark at that burner.

Hi

If the burner is not burning hot, and there is a low flame then this is often a pressure regulator problem. Most often the regulator is found where the gas line enters the gas range. I have a picture of what the flame characteristics should look like. If the igniter on different burner doesn’t work, and there is no spark at that burner then you will have to check the same items as mentioned above. This is a typical spark module wire diagram.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Portable radiant convector heater -burner slightly faulty

you probably need to adjust the primary air mixture. There should be shutters on the front of the burner assy. If this does not correct the problem you may have dirty burners themselves. you could remove the burners and drag a wire brush across them to clean. but do not drills the openings unless you use a r&m bit
