Question about HP Pavilion a6000n (882780985018) PC Desktop
I cannot support an internal hd larger than 1 terabytes.
Tried to install a WD green power 1.5 Tbytes hard disk. The computer supports it as an external drive but not as internal drive. It looks like the maximum I can get as an internal drive is 1 Tera octets.
Is it Vista, my BIOS ( Phoenix Award v.5.05 core version 6.0) or my motherboard that is limiting the size of my HD?
Vista doesn't have a 1TB limit, however just make sure you have Service Pack 2 installed. (I don't believe SP3 is necessary). you can get it free from microsoft, just do a search on the internet. The motherboard is controlled by the BIOS. Go to your MB's manufacturers site and search by your model # to get the latest bios version and instructions on how to install it. Because it is an HP it's actually going to be easier to just go to hp.com and search for the bios file there.
