If you have an Insignia player or similar, you will have to use Audible.com to buy and download your books.
There is a way to take an Audio CD book and download it to your player, but first you must change the name of each track and convert it , or else the book will not play in the correct order. It is too much trouble I think.
It sounds like your problem is that it is either not in the correct format, or it has been downloaded to the wrong folder. Try moving it from the audiobook folder to the music folder.

I don't have a solution -- but I have the same problem and this is the first I've found mention of someone else having it. I'm Mac OS 10.6.5. I thought I could go through and just delete the second copies of everything, but I can't figure out how to do that either. They don't show up when it's plugged into the computer. And as far as I can tell, you have to be playing a song in order to delete it, and it can't play things in the wrong format. Audio books should be listed within the Music folder on your clip.. just scroll until you see it.

You may have to manually put the audio book into that folder via My computer beforehand.

WIndows media player does not recognize the audio book subfolder and will mix your audio books into the album mix.. but just ignore this

Won't play book chapters in order

Maybe it is simply that the device is set on shuffle play. That way it will play mixed up. You can however create a folder with your LB series name and place the files in there.

Best luck, let me know if you got through.

Want to download audio book on CD to my MP3 player

I had this jumbled up problem as it wasn't splitting up the tracks ie I had 6 track ones lined up together which put the chapters out of sync.
The trick is to load each CD individually and immediately 'rename' each ie name of book, genre, CD1, CD2 etc.
Then you can drag and drop into the MP3 player and they will be in the correct order.
Worked for me anyway.

Sansa audio book scramble

The Sansa orders tracks alphabetically. It goes by the track name encoded internally, not by filename. You can use Media Player or some other program to rename the track, then transfer them to the Sansa.

Hi, that player plays the files in the order they are copied in windows, to avoid random playing, copy the files one by one.

Loading audio books

You will have to edit the track number in Windows Media Player by right clicking the chapter, and going to Advanced Tag Editor. Then, erase the file off the Sansa player. Then reload the mp3 with the correct order/edited tags back onto the player. Sorry - as far as I know you cannot make these edits while the songs are still loaded onto the player.
