I have a Mitsubishi WD-73727. It comes on with just blue screen and for just a few minutes the OSD works. Now nothing works. Still have blue screen but no on/off or any control from remote or front panel.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. It seems that the issue is with the convergence ICs which are required to be replaced. Also check power resistor for leakage, if values are not exact you have to replace them as well. Replacing only the IC's may solve the problem; however, many people have also had blown resistors requiring replacement. If one is shot the other one is not far away and for that little price of the chips it worth changing them both at the same time. Also the convergence board should be checked for cracked solder. If you replace the ICs and the resistors are shot, the ICs may blow again almost immediately, meaning you may have to do the repair twice. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Hello,
There is a software update that is available for some Mitsubishi dlp models. The wd-65c9 is one of them. When I experienced your problem, I went to the website, downloaded the update, and installed it on my tv and boom, its fixed. It's super easy, free, and takes a few minutes.

Common Repairs
For the following models: WD-52631, WD-57731, WD-65731, WD-Y57, WD-Y65, WD-57732, WD-65732, WD-57831, WD-65831, the most common repair problem stems from television shutting off almost immediately after it has been turned on accompanied by the message, "TV will shut down in a few seconds. Please check if the air flow is blocked." According to the Mitsubishi website, this issue is caused by a loose connection as a result of a faulty thermal sensor. For models: WD-73727, WD-73827, WD-73927, WD-73732, WD-7383, the most encountered repair problem has been in relation to the optical engine. Another common situation consumers have encountered is failure of the TV to turn on along with unceasing flashing of the green power light. The solution for this problem, caused by the DM board, will vary by repairman. Consumers have also encountered issues with moving vertical or horizontal lines appearing on the screen which can either be due to problems with the capacitor, light engine, or formatter board. Make sure all bad caps are changed.

Mitsubishi tv model wd 73727 and how to take tv apart to clean marrow

my mitsubishi 73" set is 4+ years old. all of a sudden the color is all wrong. after a couple of minutes of clear picture the colors change--blue is green and red is yellow. a little while later everything has a red tint to it and there is a line going down the center of the screen. to the left the picture is still relatively sharp, but the right hand side is terrible. I'm hoping this is just the lamp.

Distorted colors on my mitsubishi wd-73727

Projection TV sets are known to have two common problems. The first problem that is common to these sets is convergence failure. When this happens the TV will usually look 3D, Wavy/Distorted, etc. It may also shutdown and blink an error code.

The second common problem with Projection TV sets is dull video, halos around objects, white looking video, or red overpowers the screen. This is commonly caused by the fluid in the lens being clouded overs. To get fixed either call in a local TV repair company or goto sites such as Tv Repair Kits to get a repair kit with instructions. Here is there link.

They have put together complete kits for most models that include the parts, step by step photo instructions, repair assistance, etc.
