Question about Thetford Norcold RV Cooler/Freezer
You shouldn't have to lay it on its side, or "burping it", I had the same issue and realized that it is a gravity operated cooling system. I had no idea what any of this meant and tried to call Norcold to get some help...they were useless! I called the Norcold Guy (http://thenorcoldguy.com/norcold-technical-blog/) and they had a few helpful people that broke it down for me. Would probably call them again if something else breaks. I ran into the same issue today on my 8663 (same one but 3-way I believe). The Norcold users manual says to pull the fridge and lay it on it's left side for at least an hour to let the water and Ammonia remix. I gave it a shot and cleaned the half-clogged cooling fins while it was out. I'll pop it in tomorrow. If letting it sit for 24 hrs didn't fix it as was previously suggested you might try this. Took about 30 minutes to remove, simple to disconnect, but takes 2 people due to weight and size.

Shut it down, level it up and wait 24 hrs before turning it back on.
