Question about Polaroid SprintScan 35/LE Film Scanner (35 mm)

3 Answers

I have an old polaroid sprintscan film scanner model 35/le. I want to connect it to my laptop that has 15 pin male connector and USB 2 sockets. The Scanner output is from 25 pin female connector. I need a cable to connect the scanner to laptop. Do I connect it using 25 pin male connector cable to 15 pin male connector. Or I should use 25 pinmate connectro cable to usb2. I am un able to find a supplier who would sell such cable. I am not sure which one to buy and where from. Do I need an up to date software the driver. Thnaks

You can use the 25 pin to USB converter. It is available through the following link.

My friend ... before you do anything else ... go here and see if the printer is supported by the operating system you are using on your laptop: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

If it is listed, there will be a driver in your OS or elsewhere that will drive the printer and/or additional instructions.

If you are listed, great. you will know what to do.

If you are not listed - save your time, you will not find a driver unless you make one (very few exceptions)

Now then ... if you find the hardware listed on the hardware list ... someone makes a cable or an adapter. I suspect you will find a adapter that fits into the 25 pin female and has a USB out put ... or you will find a 'print server' that will do the same. Expect to pay $40.00 or more for a server.

Good luck and thanks for your interest in FixYa.com

Hi there again, ... I see your qestion is back again ... Have you checked the hardware list as I suggested? I did - I didn't find your hardware listed under Windows 7 ... though you dont list the OS you have on your laptop, if you are tunning 7, your machine is not supported as far as I can tell.

Hi! You will need a converter cable that has a 25 pin male connector and a 15 female connector to connect to the laptop. This may not be easy to find but there surely is. Try visiting some computer surplus parts store. THey may have what we are looking for, they always do. Hope this helps and have a good one!

Thank you for posting me solution but I have already done so, I can't find any computer shop or accessory shop who has such cable. 25 pin mate to 9 pin female is the one readily awailable. I have also tried to find gendefr connector but no success. I am stuck. I don't know if the scanner can be connected to the lap top using a cable that will have 25 pin male to usb2 end. Is there such cable readily available and will it work.

I have got with me a 25pin male to 9 pin female cable but it can not be used because lapto has female connector of 15 pins for vga only.

Model 2200W Proview LCD Monitor - How do I connect it to HP Laptop?

Since you don't provide the laptop model, I assume your PC has at least a 15 Pin VGA connector. You will need a 15 pin male VGA to 15 pin male VGA cable, just plug it at the laptop and the monitor, that should do. If your laptop has also an HDMI or DVI or Display Port, you will need a proper cable or adapter.

Missing adapter or plug in connection to 15 balance mointor model 2015

The Balance CM2015 monitor uses a VGA connector,

http://www.ebay.com/ctg/Balance-CM2015-15-LCD-Monitor-Black-/52125929

(The above is for reference only. Not advertising)

A VGA connector is also referred to as a 15-pin D-Sub connector,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector

This is information on a DVI cable, and DVI connector,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface

If this is the monitor cable you have, you need this type of adapter,

http://www.directron.com/dviadapter.html

Now LOOK closely.
This adapter has male pins that stick out, and go into a female VGA connector on the monitor. The DVI side of this adapter has socket holes, for a male DVI cable.

IF, your monitor has a male VGA connector on it, and the DVI cable you have has socket holes, you need this adapter,

http://www.directron.com/dvitovga.html

If your monitor cable is not a DVI cable, post back with the style it is.
If nothing else post how many pins are in the connector on the cable, and how they are arranged.

For additional questions please post in a Comment.

Cant get my computer to recognize my SprintScan 4000

The scanner uses a "twain" driver, try searching for that, it may be one of the files you already downloaded. Just look in the download u got. Also try going to add hardware, select the scanner there and poit it to the downloaded file when uit asks if you have a disk that came with it. Download the drivers to your desktop, rt click and open a folder on the desktop, and drag all of the drivers and the Twain one especially, into the folder.
