You can replace the hdd on your laptop because almost the laptop harddisk is almost the same. Only you got a problem if your laptop is old enough in can't run the new big hard disk. But you can still can buy the hard disk that can fix to your laptop at the second or surplus computer store.

STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error} .. 0xc0000005

The first thing you should do is back up the HDD, Remove the HDD from your Laptop, you find the lid that opens the HDD access slot under the laptop or ask someone who knows how. if available there are aftermarket 2.5 HD enclosures that lets you install the 2.5 in.hdd of your laptop via a usb. you can plug the usb to a desktop PC and backup your files. then reformat your hdd. reinstall the hdd to your laptop. replace your memory ram which causes the blue screen with a new ram, reinstall the OS.

No HDD Found

First boot to the system setup and see if the Hard Disk Drive is detected in the BIOS. If it is not detected, then the HDD has most likely failed and will need replacement.

If not detected in the bios, open the chassis and reseat the Data and power cables to the HDD

Hoe to install a diferent windows on a DELL

If HDD makes shshshsh.... or spinning sound or generates heat, your HDD might be ok. Next Try with XP sp2 cd. If it again cant detect HDD, go to BIOS setting and watch if the HDD is showing it's status. If Bios can not detect HDD check HDD cable and power cable inserted in HDD. Replace them if needed. Format the HDD with another PC. If you still have problem replace HDD with new one. One thing you might use your corrupted HDD as a slave drive later, i hope.

Keep informing.

HDD password for Gateway (model 3018GZ)

This is a protection feature on the system and i'm guessing one of the users on this system set it up - intentionally or accidentally. Best resolution to this (apart from replaceing the Hard drive) is to contact the vendor of the product and get the master password for the system.

MY DVDRAM DRIVE WAS CANT WORK, THERE IS NO (E) DRIVE SHOW IN MY COMPUTER.SOME TIME CAME DRIVE (R) BUT SOME TIME CANT WORK. I CANT ABLE TO RUN MY DVDRAM. PLEASE HELP ME OUT.

sounds like the ribbon (cable) could be a controller issue, unplug the h.d.d. from controller head on mb and plug in the cd rom ribbon there boot into bios and look for the cd roms if the same problem is there replace the ribbon or you can check each one seperaely by running them off the primary ide as a slave to the hdd
also swap ribbons with the hdd and see if there is still a prob. if these do not correct the prob you have a controller issue buy a controller pci card and use it or replace the board, the card is much cheaper or the last poss. is both cd roms are bad
