You will need to check if your belt snapped of simply slipped off due to wear. Lift felt on platter and check belt tension. It may need replacing. To replace, simply lift platter section of the unit, taking note of the belt position. replace and your problem will be solved

One side of my vinyl record will play fine but the other side won't spin right and the needle gets stuck on the record

The only thing you can do is clean the record with cleaning fluid. You will find special cleaning fluids for records on Amazon. If the record is warped you can try a weight pressing down on the record. But sadly if a record is warped bad there's no real cure.

Hi, this problem is caused by the cut off switch not depressing far enough to turn unit off. To remedy you need to do as follows.
1. Disconnect from power supply.
2. remove platter.
3. Flip unit over to expose the underside and remove all screws.
4. Remove base board.
5. Look at the gearing beneath the tonearm and identify switch that tonearm depresses at the rest point.
6. Loosen switch retaining screw and turn switch toward centre of turntable slightly until it clicks or closes. Tighten screw to hold switch firmly in place at that point.7. Reassemble and test.

Good luck. John. Styluscity@gmail.com.

I just bought a Memorex Model 2655MMO turntable. The phonograph is fine when playing by itself. When I record a record to cd, the hum/vibration of the cd player turning comes back through the speakers and...

I know this question is old but I work on these specific units and have come across this same problem. What I have found out is there is a capacitor on the turntable motor that is there to reduce any noise that is caused by the motor itself. What I have done is wiggle the capacitor to see if the solder connections are intact. If the connection is loose the capacitor will not filter the noise and the noise is picked up in the CD burner and then recorded on the CD.
To get at the insides of the turntable you need to remove ALL the screws on the bottom of the unit then flip it back over. You will see a split where the front of the unit is attached to the base. Stick a flat headed screwdriver into the slot and twist gently to pop it apart. Then work your way all the way across the top of the front doing the same thing. Once it is free tip up the top half of the turntable to the left and prop it up. The capacitor is on the part you flipped up near the center of the turntable body attached to the motor that drives the turntable. It is a 104k capacitor. There is one on the tape deck motor as well.

Crosley Record Player Stopped Spinning...

I had this same problem with my Crosley 704 and it bamboozled me to no end.

After digging around I dug up the manual online (I bought mine used so I didn't have one to consult). It turns out the record stops when it gets to the end, and to get it spinning again you have to lift up the tone arm and move it right (past the holding latch) until it clicks, and voila, it starts spinning again, ready for a new record.

You'd think that they coulda made it more obvious :(

Everything works on my record player but my turntable doesnt spin

This happened to me tonight. I had the same problem, to activate the player on you need to move it to the right until you hear a click. If you don't do it it won't start. Even if all the power is on. This should fix everything!

Proper cleaning of old vinyl record albums

Get yourself a nice carbon fiber brush. Purchase some record cleaner or just get some isopropyl alcohol 90% (it has less impurities). Secure the arm of the turntable so you don't scratch the record and put the record on it. Put some of the cleaning solution on the brush..not the record. Put the brush on the record and turn the platter counter clockwise to work the dirt loose. Check the brush and clean it if need be and repeat. Take the record off and clean the turntable. Flip the record over and repeat the cleaning process. That should do it. Thanks for stopping by and come back if you need more help. If you don't mind, rate my answer appropriately. Thanks.
