You need to access the air diverter motor that channels the air from the floor to the defroster vents and to the dash vents, its either defective or theres no power to it,also it can become gummed up and not move from dirt and debris dust in the motor shaft and can no longer over power this to move when you select to do that, its usually located behind the glove box on the passenger side and can be powered by either electric 12 volts or vacuum from the engine, but most now days are of the electric variety

2005 chevy silverado steam through air vents

Probably fog.
Either the ac is not draining onto the ground, or the system is cutting on and off too much, or its not letting in enough fresh air. The fog would be from moisture inside the hvac box.

What to do when air conditioning vents on 2005 chevrolet silverado1500/v6 ?

It is all electronic these days an electric motor is controled by the selector on the dash. Remove the dash surround: gear selector in 1st engine off, tile steering wheel down, push down FIRMLY on the top of surround and pull towards you and off it comes. Remove the two screws that hold the heater/air cond. control in, there are 4 plastic clips as backup release them and gently remove the control, inspect for loose connectors (there are 2) it helps to run the blower to see if you have found the problem- I did.

2003 Chevy Silverado ac bashboard vent not blowing.

There are controls in your car where you can control the flow of air to certain parts of your car. Make sure that you have it turned to where it blows out of all of the vents and then the air should come out of the dashboard. If this continues then there might be a ventilation hose that has been disconnected and is not getting air to that part but the other hoses are still connected.

My Defrost doesn't work

Check to see if the duct hose to the defroster vents has come loose. If air is blowing out under the dash when you have the control set to defrost, then this is likely.

2003 chevy silverado air does not blow through vents. Condenser works. Pipes are cold. Fan works. Modular (next to fan) repalced to get fan to work. Heater air conditioner controls under radio replaced....

The air vents are control by vacuum line and or linkage.

Listen for hiss or feel for vacuum leak under the dash,

Feel for broken linkage(s) that are close to the vents.

WORK BACKWARD if you have small hands to feel out where is the missing link.
