SOURCE: Is there a wia driver

Well I too HAD this problem. Upgraded to Win7 64 bit and was unable to install the existing 32 bit drivers (of course) that operate in WinXP and Vista. Called Kodak and there wonderful answer was Buy a New Scanner.

Well this was just not an option. SO I searched and searched for alternatives, to creating a WinXP Virtual machine with VMPlayer or VirtualBox to remote controlling an older WinXP laptop connected to the scanner. None were solutions I felt I could live with.

Then I found VueScan at www.hamrick.com. A small chea scanning software that you can try before you buy. I read through everything on the site including the specific scanner notes for the Kodak I65, then downloaded the trial version.

Once installed you follow the instructions from the site to use VueScans own driver to run the Kodak scanner and lo and behold I got my ORIGINAL Kodak scanner menu to work on Win7 64bit. Then I used the VueScan software to scan a document and it worked like a charm. Albeit with the VueScan watermark.

Now I could have stopped there and called it a success, but I then, tried scanning with my Nitro PDF Pro software and was amazed to get a Perfect scan without the watermark.

Now NOTE, I did not buy the VueScan software at this time, as I don't need it's ability. I just used their driver and driver installation instructions from the website specifically for the Kodak I65. Most likely going to buy the basic version of the software anyway, as I think the guy deserves something for saving my EXPENSIVE I65 from becoming a paperweight.

An Elegant and Complete solution to Kodak's total support failure!

Kodak scanner i3400 error e73

e73 is A USB command failure. Check to see if the scanner is connected to a USB 3 port. A USB 3 port can be identified by the port being Blue in color or have the letters "SS" (Super Speed) near the port. Kodak scanners behave strangely with USB 3. With the unit turned off, please connect the scanner to a USB 2.0 port. Additionally, download and install (as an administrator) the most current drivers from Kodak.com which alleviates 9 out of 10 issues.

Kodak 1400u sidekick

BE CAREFUL there is a LOT of BAD advice above.. First, as a professional store that sales and services the Kodak 1400u models, I can tell you that there is absolutely a way to let Windows 7 64 bit work with your scanner. In fact, I just converted 3 of them for a tax preparations office last week! As mentioned above, visit Kodak's website for the latest FLASH driver and ALSO download the step bu step "guide" that they give you with it. It will tell you exactly how to walk through and change your BBH 1400u, to a Kodak1400u. Once you have followed their instructions and made SURE the unit is showing up under your "Device Manager" as "KODAK 1400u: - Then you can download the driver...

BE CAREFUL!! One of the most DAUNTING issues to deal with, when you are on Kodak's website, is their "stupidity" to NOT make a DISTINCTION between the BBH drivers, and the Kodak Drivers. I myself, a trained technician, also accidently downloaded the wrong driver the first time. Pay CLOSE attention and make SURE you download the driver for the KODAK 1400U and NOT the BBH driver! Secondly, you MUST completely uninstall "ALL".. Wait a minute "EVERYTHING" associated with the OLD driver for the BBH 1400u if you want success.. In fact, I highly recommend that you also use a uninstall cleaner to FULLY remove ALL traces of the old BBH drivers BEFORE installing the new KODAK 1400u drivers.

Am I being overly cautious and seemingly CRAZY about my CAPS and making SURE you are paying attention to detail? YES!! Because if you do not follow the sequence EXACTLY as it is written, the unit will NOT work! But, if you follow their instructions, step by step, the BBH 1400u will change into a KODAK 1400u model and it works very well... :)

Hope this helps!

Not sure on Canon but I feel your pain... I have a Kodak ESP 9 that used to work on my PC when I had 32 Bit version of Windows 7 but when I switched to 64 Bit it wouldnt anymore because Kodak hasnt made a driver for it for 64 Bit yet so I have to use another computer to print from. Check with the Canon Website and if you cant find a driver then you may want to call them and see if they have one in the works.

I cant find a a driver for the RFS 3600 Fil Scanner for windows vista

Hi.

Here is a link to the Kodak website portion that has your drivers.

You most likely need to download and install both the acquire module, and the twain driver for your scanner.
Also, if you haven't done so, I would recommend downloading the firmware update as well.

Here is the link: http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/software/rfs3600/hostOverview3600.jhtml

This page has all the downloads right there for you.

I hope this helps you out, and have a good day.
