Second hand is moving the minute had as a second hand

It sounds as though the minute hand is loose, and being driven around by the seconds hand. It is fairly easy to rectify this yourself, IF you have the expertise and correct tools for the job. Otherwise, I would suggest you took it to a reputable watch repairer - but be sure you're happy about the price before proceeding. It may be that the cost of repair outweighs the value of the watch.

The minute hand spins freely. how do i fix this?

Your hands need to be reset. It is possible that you have dropped your watch or have knocked it on something to make them come loose. You need to take it into a jeweler or a watch repair person to have it fixed because they will need to open the watch up to solve the problem.

Mk 5473 watch is loosing time

Okay, so I'd the watch dial says automatic or manual wind you should be able to wind the watch to get it to start working. If the second hand is sweeping buy the minute and hour or just minute hand does not go around properly there are different issues. One. It could be the pinion that is loose, (major repair) two, the watch needs an overhaul meaning cleaned and re oiled(less likely). If only minute hand is giving trouble, its loose(the 2nd hand) or the pinion is loose.

TW Steel unable to reset minute chronograph hand (small upper left dial) I know how to reset second hand crown out push upper button etc but how do I rest minute recording hand

If the reset procedure still fails on time and date set crown positions together with chronograph buttons, and the minute counter doesn't move even when the stopwatch runs, the following can be tried:
The minute counter's motor may be stuck. Swipe a magnet hence and forth in different directions close to the back of the watch until the minute counter moves. The other hands may also move, but they can be reset later. Continue swiping several times to loosen the motor. A sheet should be placed behind the back of the watch to avoid scratches. Once the motor is loose enough, it can be further loosened by using its reset button which will spin it around when depressed.

Hour hand does not move minuet hand does not move but second works

Loose cannon pinion or cannon driving wheel, depending on model of movement inside the watch.

The seconds hand represents the wheels in the back of the watch going around ok, but the power need to transfer through to the front of the watch somehow. This is done by snapping/clicking two wheels together on either side of the main plate. The one on the dial side (cannon pinion) needs to slip to be able to set the time as the minute hand is set on this pinion. From there it is one wheel to the side & then back into the centre for the hour wheel. Over time the mating surfaces wear & become loose, meaning that the two hands driven fron the front of the watch are not being carried anymore. Time to see a repair guy!

Hands cannot keep time

There is nothing you can do yourself, because your watch has a loose cannon pinion and for tightening it the special watchmakers tool is obligatory. You have to find your nearest watch repair shop and ask watchmaker to do that. No need to go to any specific watch repair shop, as any decent watchmaker has the tool and can do the job. Rate me, plz.

Battery has been replaced. watch will not work

This isnt uncommon! Depending on how long the dead battery remained in the could be that the watch is running but the hands might not be moving. Chances are thats what the issue is. The problem is that you need to find a watch repair business that has a cyclonic machine. It picks up the "beat" that the magnetic rotor makes as the wheels move inside. It most likely needs a little watch oil and a spin on the cyclonic machine.

We do this countless times everyday! Customer brings a watch in and its not running, we check the battery and its good. The watch oils loose viscosity as the watch ages and it can keep the hands from moving! Another issue is finding a repair company that wont try and sell you a new movement when its not needed! Thats common too! :-( I would check around at different places. If they are honest then they wont try to fix something that isnt broke! :-)

Good luck!!!

Second hand stopped moving

If the hour and minute hands have also stopped, then the watch needs a new battery (if it is electric), or needs to be wound (if it is mechanical or automatic-mechanical).

If the hour and minute hands are still functioning and telling the correct time, then the second hand has become loose and needs to be re-attached. A watch repair shop can do this for you and it should not cost much.
