Question about Acer (56.04145.901) (5604145901) Power Supply

I was running the program "windon Defender" on it and walked away. When I returned the computer was off and wasn't turn back on.

The Windows Defender Application is the Antivirus Software which will be pre-installed with the Windows Operating System(Windows Vista, Windows 7).
The Computer will always Shut down after any Windows Updates or any Operating System Updates are downloaded and installed.
If you are connected to the Internet and running Windows Defender, the Computer will automatically download the Updates for the Windows Defender Application.
Once the Updates are downloaded and installed, the Computer will prompt for a shut down.
The count down will be for 10 seconds.
After 10 seconds, the Computer will install the downloaded Updates and shut down.
This might be the reason for the Computer to shut down while using the Windows Defender.

If the Computer still shuts down randomly, the issue might be due to overheating.
All the Processors in Notebooks are designed to shut down automatically, if there is any overheating issues.
The overheating issue mainly occurs due to the malfunction of the Cooling fan.
If the Computer shuts down frequently, the issue might be due to the above factors.
It would be better to get the Unit examined at the Service Center.

How to fix windows defender for free

If the software wasn't installed properly or is conflicting with other programs running on your machine, Windows Defender may not work correctly. Windows defender not working

Can't turn on windows defender


Make sure you don't have any other virus program running such as Norton, Mcafee, AVG, etc. If you do then that will stop windows defender from turning on. If you do have any virus programs running you'll have to uninstall them before turning on Windows Defender.

Microsoft Windows Security Essentials on my Emachine using Windows Vista Home on Start Up shows Windows Defender is turned OFF! I cannot get it to turn on manually or thru Control Panel


hi..you can only choose one antivirus program..usually when MSE is activated you cannot turn on windows defender..in any case that you had your system 2 activated antivirus it will affect the performance..

Laptop is infected


you bought the program allready? if no then dont do it because is a false positive so first search on the net or directly download it form this site http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/HijackThis-Download-5034.html instal it scan and after is finish search the program (security tool) and remove it and reboot that's it.
About your question,your credit card should not be accessible for others but that depends on the site you pay how secure is it.

Yea Dell likes to package trial versions of antivirus that start to nag you after a month or two of using them for free. Basically you will need to uninstall it and purchase a new antivirus

I need to stop this message from cyber defender from poping up on my computer


  1. Run Windows Defender from Start Menu.
  2. Click on Tools button. windows-defender-tools.jpg

  4. Scroll down the “Options” page, and uncheck the check boxes of the following two settings: Use real-time protection (recommended) under “Real-time protection options”

    uninstall-windows-defender.jpg Note that both options MUST be unchecked for the Windows Defender service in Windows Vista to be completely stopped. Else, only real-time protection is disabled.
  5. Click on Save button.
  6. A “Windows Defender is turned off” dialog message will appear, confirming that Windows Defender no longer runs. Hi,
If you use another anti virus/spy program like Norton Antivirus which i suspect you are as you are using Norton Internet Security then you may not need Windows Defender running at all. If you think that Windows Defender is the culprit stopping your Canon application from running then why don't you stop Defender from running.
Open the Windows Defender program, click on Tools->Options, select Administrator Options, and uncheck the "Use Windows Defender box". Confirm that you do indeed want to do this, click Close.
Restart your computer and try running the Canon application to see if it has helped.
If it has then all's well, if you want to run Windows Defender again just follow the above steps and re-check the "Use Windows Defender" box again.
If this does not work please post back.
