How can i check which ink are out

Your printer should have come with a disk. This disk would have installed the necessary program that runs printing jobs, as well as keeps track of the ink level. Locate this program on your computer (may be under All Programs, Accessories under the Start Menu).
If not, Go into the Control Panel: (see below)

Above, you see "Hardware and Sound"; and below that shows "View Devices and Printers. Click on this. It will then bring you into the below dialogue box, of which shows any and all printers currently installed and which are being used. (see below)

Once you have located your printer here - (name etc). Go into your Start Menu: In the Search Box at the bottom type "programs"; look for the words "show which programs are installed on your computer", should be the fourth in the list. Below is what the list will look like. Find your printer here to ensure it's installed.

Once you have determined it's installed, you need to locate the printer program in your file system. Once you retrieve this, click it to open it. The program should allow you to view the ink levels. With most printers, when ink is low it will automatically open a dialogue box showing the ink levels for each cartridge. If you're printer is not equipped with this feature, then the only way to know if any need changed is when printing a document, and any color is not present.
I apologize for such a long response, as I wanted you to know how to access these files. If you are printing, and all colors appear to be present, without fading, or "blotchy" spots, then your cartridges are still good. You should be able to do a print test (calibration or alignment test) to determine this as well.

I can not get anything to print on my Epson NX420 using my IMAC. It says the printer is offline and I can't even print a test page. Can you help?

I'm assuming the printer worked previously from the iMac and now it does not. If you never had it connected, please add a comment to this effect, and include your OS version.

First, Open the Print Center (Printer Utility) and check the status of the printer. It may be listed as stopped. If so, delete any extra print jobs (additional attempts to print the page), then click the Start Jobs icon.

You can verify printer connectivity by clicking Add in the Printer List (if that is not visible, select Show Printer List from the View menu). Be sure to select either the USB or wireless network protocol connection. If the NX420 shows up, you have a good connection. In that case, click cancel and skip the next paragraph.

If you are printing via USB, check the cable (I sometimes forget to plug in my printer cable after downloading from my camera). If you are printing via your wireless network, check the status of the wireless connection from the printer.

Also, in the printer utility window, click the Supply Levels icon to verify that all of the ink cartridge levels are high enough to permit printing.

Are there any error messages on the printer display? A fault detection will take the printer offline.

My hp 2360 wont print, green light keeps on blinking, it says printer offline on the printer status bar

Make sure that cable to printer is attached and if printer still shows offline then in control panel for the printers make sure that you right click and choose Use Printer Online

    What the flashing light means
The Power light can flash for several reasons:
? The printer cover is open.
? The printer is out of paper.
? A problem exists with the printer, such as a paper jam or a problem with a print

    11. Wait 30 seconds for the power to get discharged and then plug the power cable into the wall outlet first and then into the back of the printer

Is there a workaround for using alternate brand ink cartridges in my Epson CX9400Fax printer? I have been using off brand cartridges in nthis printer for a while now but I just put in a black and it shows...

You might want to try disabling the status monitor software that is installed with your printer driver.

    To do this you
    • Locate your printer in Printers & Faxes
    • Right click and choose printing preferences
    • Choose the "Maintenance" tab (top right)
    • Locate the "Speed & Progress" button and click it
    • Tick the "Disable EPSON status monitor 3" box
    • Click on OK and then OK on the previous box
You should now find that any computer generated nags screens leave you alone.

This doesn't always work but it's definitely worth a try... Also worth considering that you have bought or been mis-sold cartridges that are not compatible with your printer... It does happen.

    Hope that helps.
