Hello mycar..the biggest problem i have found on late tvs is that you can get some service repair manuals and schematics but they do not give you anything on the major boards like the vid ..x&y boards ..logic board .i have a plasma that the vid board is faulty to and cannot get any info on it .maybe it is because they dont want to fix them..some sets are rebadged brands .try putting your model no in and see what may come up.it could possibly be lg boards in it .if so you may stand a chance..

Repair tips for plasma Y sustain board

Ah! if the short shows at the large input filter caps---put the bridge rectifier under a microscope (not literally).

That is in a package which actually contains 4 diodes--even if tests good and is mounted to a heat sink, unbolt it as I have seen a few (line voltage surge) fracture them on the rear--reads ok when set off but when power hits it at turn on it arcs over to the heat sink.

Just a thought--just keep looking if a short to ground--takes time but not usually a major part bad.

I have a Panasonic TH-42PX80U TV. When I power up the set, after a few seconds you can hear the relay click and then the LED blinks 2 times in cycle. When I hold the power button for 10 seconds the LED...

Hi
A common problem for these is bad capacitors in the power supply, Remove the back from your Tv and look at the power supply on the left hand side.

You will see roughly around 9 x capacitors that are bulged / domed shaped on top usually these are valued at 3300uf 10V any that have bulged or leaked a brown like substance should be changed.
This will cure the problem as they overheat being sat next to a heatsink that gets very hot!
Try and change them for the same 3300uf but a higher voltage.
Hope this helps

Stand by light is on.when i try to turn on the tv the power light flashes, the screen cuts on and flashes dig tv then cuts off.

The likely problem is bad capacitors on the power/inverter board, to check for them you will need to remove the back cover, there will be a few screws holding together so make sure you find them all, some can be hidden under stickers or rubber incerts, before opening the set unplug from mains, and leave for about an hour or two in ensure the caps inside have had time to drain the voltage, once you have taken the back off the set you will see pcb boards and a few wires, your looking for cylindrical barrel shaped componants on the the board with silver tops, if any of these show signs of leakage or are slightly domed or pretruding at the top they are faulty and will need to be changed.

You will need some soldering skills to remove the capacitors from the board, and replace with the new ones, you can buy the capacitors from places like maplins or other online electrical componant shops such as RS Componants, ensure you know the value of each faulty capacitor, it is written on the side of them it should be somthing like this 25v 47uf, V stands for the voltage, you dont have to exact with voltage as long as it is equal to or more than the voltage stated on the cap, the uf however stands for micro farad and needs to be exact, if the cap is 47uf then you will need to replace it with a 47uf value cap, if not it will not work and may blow, the same if you get a lower rated voltage cap. Also before removing the old caps from the board make a note of which way around they are placed on the pcb board, they will be markings on the side of the cap to show which leg is the negative side or cathode, it will also be marked on the pcb itself. If you get these the wrong way around then the cap will blow. Hope this helps and post back if you need any further help.

I have Akai 37" LCT TV. When I turn it on, no picture is getting displayed. I has the same problem no picture but has sound ,what is the value of fu101,where can I buy one

If it has sound but no picture then one of the following parts is faulty, and must be tested and replaced:

The inverter is the high voltage board that provides variable power to the backlight lamp. This is the most common. When inverter is faulty you can get no picture, or a very dim picture that can only be seen by pointing a torch light with a 45 degree angle on the LCD surface from very near distance.
The inverter must be tested by reading voltages with a multimeter.

The LCD ribbon cable/LCD display and connectors.
This is quite uncommon, but happens. If the TV had been hit or moved the LCD cable may have slipped out, or the LCD connector may be damaged.

The LCD controller board.
This is the board that controls the video signal, it is difficult to test, as there is need to read determined values on IC pins. To test this board you need to purchase a service manual and follow the troubleshooting diagrams on service manual.

From description it looks like a faulty inverter, I think that is the first part to test.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual.

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

Screen cycles through different colors when power supply is on

I replaced the digital video board with one from another TV set. That fixed the problem but I would
like to find a schematic of the board and repair it as it is expensive. the board is marked:
E3H 21VT1MB0006. It is probably the same as the DAV0VT1MB6E5 board advertised at Shop Jimmy.
