This should run with the printer driver built into XP. The printer should be plugged into the computer and turned on while the computer is off. Then the new hardware wizard should come up. Select Epson and then scroll down to the LX300. Several other Epson printers use the same driver. For a printer with the color upgrade kit, the alternate printers are JX-80 and EX-800. For the black and white version, look for LX-810, LX-850, LX-800, LX-80/86, FX-850, FX-86e/800. You might see these alternative printers in the select printer list and they are the same as far as the OS is concerned.
