Disable the Numlock key and check if the same issue persists. You can reinstall the Keyboard Driver to resolve the issue. Uninstall the Keyboard Driver from the Device Manager and restart the Computer. The Computer will reinstall the Keyboard Driver when you restart the Computer automatically.

Try These Solutions:

Fix Driver Solution: In Windows Start/Control Panel/ Device Manager/ and search through the list for the element of distress. If it's Audio, it is in the Sound/Video/Game Controllers whereby left clicking on that section will open up a window indicating your electronic devices. A video Camera/Sound Source may show up and if you Right Click on that line you get a message Update Software? You will get another option the Search On-Line (you must have internet access for this feature) and say yes, and allow a search to ensue. If you have the Best Driver installed a message stating so will appear; if not you will get an updated driver and it will be installed for you automatically. The other method is to go to the Manufactures Web Site and Support area. Input the necessary data (Model, etc.) and look for Drivers. Update ALL new drivers at the same time and install them accordingly. Then an alternative it to use a Wireless Keyboard/Mouse set using the USB ports.

HOW TO RESOLVE NONFUNCTIONAL KEYS ON MY NETBOOK?

Hi There,
Do you mean that the keyboard is not working as in, let's say the "enter" key doesn't function, or other keys do not function?
Or do you mean that there are specialized keys (usually media keys) on your netbook that don't seem to function?
If it's the latter, download the media keys application provided by the manufacturer here - http://support.gateway.com/us/en/emac/product/default.aspx?modelId=2262
If the former - purchase a new keyboard. Replacing a keyboard is fairly easy on netbooks and requires little to no skill other than unscrewing four to eight screws. - http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Acer-Emachines-eM350-EM-350-NAV51-NAV50-SERIES-NETBOOK-US-keyboard-/160655260194

Keyboard mapping

Your numlock is turned on. There is more than one way to turn it off.Find a USB keyboard, and plug it in. Then push the numlock key on the USB keyboard to turn it off.OR, if you don't have access to one of those, hold down the fn key (lower left hand corner of the keyboard) and press the key with numlock or number lock written on or near it.

The number nine is not working on the keyboard of my netbook Model No.ZG 5. Will I have to replace the entire keyboard?

hello sksujan

1- First try to clean the keyboard. you can do that with even a bicycle pump. Blow it clean from different angles to make sure nothing is under it blocking the contacts.

2- Some laptops/netbooks have another set of numbers on the keyboard in the middle which can be used with a key combination like "Fn" with the other keys.

if your netbook does not have that then unfortunately you do have to replace the keyboard.

Good luck

please leave comment, vote if this helped.

I have a new acer netbook. In attempting to type an email address, I cannot type the @ symbol. It comes up as ". There are green symbols and lettering on some of the keys. HELP!

Where did you buy your Netbook?
What language or locality have you chosen for your system?
US keyboards have @ on the shift 2 key
Various other keyboards have " for shift 2 - these include various European and Latin American layouts. You need to specify a locale that matches your hardware.
This useful page may help you for your setup.

NETBOOK KEYBOARD NOT WORKING

Hi,
You better check first if it is the keyboard on your netbook is the problem.
Below is the steps that you can use:

You need to use external keyboard ( typical keyboard usually use for desktop PC ). plug the external keyboard to the port where you can plug the cord of the external keyboard cord going to your netbook

Then, if the external keyboard will work the best thing to do is to bring your netbook to the support center near in your area to check if the keyboard of the netbook if its still working properly and to find out if you really need to purchase a replacement for the keyboard of your netbook

If the external keyboard will not work you also need to go bring your netbook to the support center to check the parts that is connected in your netbook.

Hp mini keyboard shift key 2 does not type @

it has to do with your keyboard setting, currently you are set to the united kingdom keyboard layout, you will need to change this to Unite States settings assuming that you got vista, you will need to do the following

goto control panel
click on regional and language option (there will be a pop up)
click on the keyboard and languages tab
click on the change keyboard button (another pop up will appear)
click on add
and add the United States Keyboard
change the keyboard setting on the upper drop down menu to United States, and then click ok.....this should solve your problem.
