Panasonic PT L501U Projector

Ok all the fans are running... lamp is striking and then green LED blinks and then goes orange and the lamp shuts off, then goes into cool-down and after that goes into standby LED red... then does not recover unless power off then on.

If it was a power ballast issue, the lamp would not light or would arc or blow... what else do I look for or you suggest....

I appreciate your help

Right , if the indicator light goes from Green to Orange when shutting down , it will be the Powersupply that is giving problems and not the Ballast.

I have a Panasonic PT-D5500U. We replaced the lamp, and then shortly thereafter, whenever we turn on the projector the power lamp goes from green and shuts off and blinks red three times continuously. ...

the problem is a known "bug" by the manufacture, which is due to low temperature issue that's detected by the processor of the projector. it will require a firmware upgrade. i'd recommend getting in contact w/ their tech support.

Unresponsive, lamp dies upon start

if you don't hear a high-pitched whir, the colorwheel is shot and needs replacing. if you do, one of the fans might not be working and the heat shuts it off so as not to cause damage.

My projector doesn't stay on. what's wrong?

either the lamp cannot strike (meaning a ballast or lamp issue) or there the fans are not up to speed to sufficientl;y cool down the lamp and therefore shut down to avoid damage.

Panasonic PT L501U Projector

Ok , so the lamp is out then.

Before spending the money on a new Ballast.

Switch on the Projector while the top cover is off and check if all your fans are running.

The red light you see glowing on the Mainboard is quite normal.

Panasonic PT L501U Projector

Hi there

Have you replaced the lamp ?

If you haven't - take out the lamp and chech for any irregularity on it - i.e. - discolouration , vein like looking marks ( black or white ) and also if the shape of the shaft is off.

If there is no visible damage it might be a faulty Ballast ( lamp's powersupply ) - especially if you cannot get it out of stanby once it has shut down.
