Question about Dell Inspiron 1525 Notebook
It is not legal to give out a product key, be it Microsoft or any other publisher, over the Internet. It's called Software Piracy, and is a Federal Offense, a felony, a violation of copyrights.
While you may think you are being helpful, you are putting that key into the hands of literally thousands of other people, people who have not purchased the product itself.
In the future, please be more circumspect about sharing product install keys.
Recommend that the End User call Microsoft, explain why they do not have their key any more; Microsoft will ensure their validity, and provide them a key by phone.
Sorry to sound like the software police, but if I don't tell you this, the actual software police are not so polite as I have been. And if they contact you, they will not be polite at all.
