Question about RC 2 7.4v 200mah 10c Lipo Battery For Rc Plane Helicopter

1 Answer

Can I run 2 of the 3.7 volt lipo micro packs to run an ESC and receiver that need min of 5v to operate? If so, is it both positives to single positive or do you run in series where it is positive to negative on other pack and then hook up as normal. Any help would be great. Thanks

If you need over 5Volts, then you must connect the batteries in series: eg. Battery 1 Negative- connected to Battery 2 Positive+ to effectively give you 7.4Volts.
You also need to check the MAX voltage allowed for the ESC and Receiver and any other attachments such as lights/LEDs) ... otherwise you could blow up one or more devices! I WOULD NOT JUST HOOK UP the series LiPo!
The micro packs Current rating (mA) should be high enough to supply the appropriate Current for the devices to function properly.
As a general warning for inexperienced hackers: Lithium batteries are very sensitive and prone to explode and catch fire if mishandled especially if charged wrongly or even accidentally pierced!
Hope the therory helps you make an informed decision!

I switched from lipo batteries to regular batteries on Spartan boat. Now will not run on either batteries. Is there a way to reset and start over

You can't switch form LIPO to "regular" because the voltages are completely different LiPo is 3.7 Volts per cell, standard is 1.5 Volts. Hope you haven't burned out the electronics.

Using lipo s it goes to low voltage shut off

the packs may need to be balanced..most good chargers have an option to balance your packs cell may be stronger so it is running off that cell then acting dead

Traxxas bandit vxl doesn't work i left my traxxas bandit vxl for 1 day and came back and drove and when i got outside and drove pass my sidewalk to go on the road the esc started flashing red slow

Are you running a lipo or nmhi? You could have the lipo cut off turned on and the battery is too low. Or it could have a bad motor. Try hooking up another motor an see what happens. Or try to turn off lipo mode.

The LED on the XL-5 is solid red after programming. The model operates normally, but the light is supposed to be green. What is wrong?

Press the ez-set button on the esc (the one with the heatsink) for ten seconds until it changes color and gives a beeptone, green is low voltage detection on for use with lipo batteries,if they are fully discharged they are dead, the detection system cuts power beyond 3v per cell so that the lipo isnt dameged

The first thing to check is whether or not your speed controller is in Lipo mode or NiMH. If you are using NiMH, and the ESC is set for Lipo, it will not work properly. If the ESC is in NiMH mode, then try reprogramming the speed controller, as this has been my problem a couple of times. Good luck, and have fun. Hope this helps.

Berg-4 micro receiver, HS-55's.
ESC would depend on the motors you choose.

Hurricane 550 battery problem

Hi All,
Thanks for your reply.

Finally, I've solved the problem. The battery that I've got previously produced 42 volts each and I connected two in series configuration. So the voltage add up together become 84 V for ESC.
That's why I can only fly for twice and it didn't last for long. The batteries were bubble up and really hot, basically, I busty it. Besides, the ESC is cooked.

So, I bought two brand new battery packs ( 3C 11.1V 3300mAh) and an ESC. The ESC has built in switching mode. One of the socket from ESC is connected to the switch with black and red wires were wrong way around. After I've swap it everything works. By using this way, there is no needed the extra 9V batter pack for receiver.

Your Sincerely,
