Out of range means your hand set cannot communicate with its base set. Several possibilities ... one ... you are simply too far away (more than 100 <> feet) ... two ... you have battery issues ... three ... you have metal based wall paper on the walls of your home. There are other reasons ... these are the ones I have had experience with.

Thanks for your interest in FixYa.com ... please evaluate this response.

Thanks.

I am trying to determine when my gas range was manufactured - 362-7585590 is the model number. And who manufactured it. Thank you.

The 362 code indicates that the range was made by GE. The manual for the range is available here: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/user-manuals/3627585590-kenmore-parts-gas+range-manual?manualIndex=0 . To download the manual go to http://c.searspartsdirect.com/mmh/pd_download/lis_pdf/OWNM/L0801065.pdf . You need the serial number of the range to determine the date of manufacture.

These sites may help: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16195 and http://www.appliance411.com/service/date-code.php . The first site lists how GE adds the date code in the serial number. The second site will give you the manufacture date after you fill in all of the details.

I hope this helps.

Cindy Wells
(Some code lists indicate that the 362 prefix indicates a Roper appliance built with GE parts.)

Where is the neutral safety switch on a2004 chevy Malibu, 3.5 L engine

The transmission range (TR) switch is part of the park/neutral position (PNP) and back-up lamp switch assembly (1), which is externally mounted on the transmission manual shaft. The TR switch contains four internal switches that indicate the transmission gear range selector lever position. The PCM supplies ignition voltage to each switch circuit. By grounding one or more of the switch circuits, the PCM detects the selected gear range by the state change of the switch input. Refer to Transmission Range Switch Logic . Switch input to the PCM is represented on the scan tool as HI and LOW. HI indicates an ignition voltage signal. LOW indicates a zero voltage signal. The four parameters represent transmission range switch signal A,B,C and Parity.

The preheat indicator stays on my electric oven? What could be the problem?

I appreciate your inquiry, Sidney!
I see that you are having a difficulty with the preheat indicator on your Frigidaire range constantly staying on. This could be a possible issue with that switch or indicator light. I would recommend seeking help from a certified technician for exchanging or replacing any electrical components. This will prevent any personal injury or future issues with your range. I hope this is helpful information. -Matt

Plymouth grand voyager 1999 is not showing the readings on my dash for the fuel, speedometer, and has not passed emissions. What could be the problem?

Here is the procedure to check the gage connector on the back of the instrument cluster. The procedure is a lot longer if you have a mechanical PRNDL indicator in the cluster. I'm thinking you don't. You don't need to remove the cluster as the procedure says, because you're just going to check the connectors on the back. You just need to take the screws out and tilt it forward far enough to reach in and push the connectors in.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
CAUTION The models covered by this guide are equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), which utilizes a driver and passenger side air bag. Whenever working near any of the SRS components, such as the impact sensors, the air bag module, steering column and instrument panel, disable the SRS, as described earlier in this section.

'04 Trailblazer. Indicator shows drive but it's not in drive.

The transmission range (TR) switch is part of the park/neutral position (PNP) and backup lamp switch assembly, which is externally mounted on the transmission manual shaft. The TR switch contains four internal switches that indicate the transmission gear range selector lever position. The powertrain control module (PCM) supplies ignition voltage to each switch circuit. As the gear range selector lever is moved, the state of each switch may change, causing the circuit to open or close. An open circuit or switch indicates a high voltage signal. A closed circuit or switch indicates a low voltage signal. The PCM detects the selected gear range by deciphering the combination of the voltage signals. One of these circuits it what is causing your problem but I hope this helps you understand some.
