Turn the dial one or more revoultions, until the pointer points to the current time of day. It should then control the lights at the times you have set.

I have a model 8100-0300-01 . The dte is H1612. My low voltage lights don't come on anymore. I have pressed the reset button but nothing happens. Can you help me?

Copy following link and scroll down to identify low voltage timer:

This particular line of Malibu timer has 1 year limited warranty.
Don't buy digital, photoeye timers for outdoors.
See if you can set timer so lights are ON all the time, then plug power pack into cheap wall timer.

Outdoor light timer by Intermatic in house when we bought it. Trying to program it after changing batteries, but there are no directions for it. how would I get some instructions for it?

1) Model number is unknown.

2) You have outdoor programmable Intermatic timer, and replaced battery.

3) Open following link to help identify timer and download possible manual:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Intermatic-timers-and-manuals.html#hb88

4) If timer does not show on link above, add a comment with clear description of timer and buttons for possible identification and manual.

5) Most battery operated timers require 'reset' after battery change.
Manuals usually say, the battery is replaced and programs remain intact, and then current time has to be set again.
In typical situation however, most timers lose functionality with battery change. That's why timer is reset, and then reprogrammed.

6) If functionality is not restored after battery change and reset, then timer has gone bad.

7) Newer Intermatic timers have 'lifetime' warranty against workmanship defect.
Older timers have 1 year warranty.

8) Electronic timers, low voltage power packs, plus electronic water heaters, and electronic water softeners and treadmills etc are each susceptible to power surge from nearby lightning and also from simple power outage.
Not always necessary, but safest to unplug outdoor timer during storm event and with circuit breaker trip, or power outage. Plug back in after power is restored or storm is over. This is true also if timer is on GFCI, and breaker trips. Unplug timer and then reset GFCI.
Add a whole house surge protector to main breaker panel. This gives 1-time protection from surge event.

9) Take a moment and rate answer:
And take advantage of fixya expert assistance live.
For a price, expert works with you while you work on timer or any do-it-yourself project.
Fixya is always less expensive than a service call.

I lost the small clip that is inserted into the timer at the time yo want the lights to come on,.

Trippers for low voltage timers are not available at Malibulights.com or Intermatic, or ebay.
That explains why folks ask power pack questions on fixya instead of finding results at the manufacturer's website.
New Malibu power packs are electronic and not mechanical

'Harry' wrote me about a work-around for lost trippers.
He bought ordinary 3-prong wall timer, and then set malibu power pack override to ON, and then plugged power pack into wall timer. 3-prong timers sell for $10 at Walmart and Target.

I put my busted power pack on a remote timer, but I like timers.

My research into power pack issues resulted in tips for maintaining and setting up power packs.
The reason I add these tips now, before your power pack needs replacement is some fella wrote-in.
He bought 500 Watt power pack to replace 300 Watt > thinking bigger was better.
Power pack burned out. Here's why:
1) Match wattage of bulbs with wattage of power pack
-15 each X 20 watt bulbs = 300 watts, so install 300Watt power pack
2) Installing a 500W power pack on 300W of bulbs will burn out bulbs and power pack.
3) Replace bulbs as soon as they burn out or other bulbs will burn out and power pack will burn out.
4) When working on bulbs, unplug power pack or it may burn out.

Lost power and need to reset the timer.

Aube timers have back up battery that recharges after power resumes.
Battery should hold programming during outage.
If battery does not charge, then screen doesn't light up and programming not possible.

Aube makes several timers.

I am replacing an in-wall timer switch that controls porch lights. Old timer has only two black wires, that were hooked to the 2 black wires in the wall. The new timer (GE 15086) has black, red, white...

Did you get instructions with the switch? Does it say what is line and what is load? You can hook the green and the white to the green, it won't hurt, but I think one of the colored wires is in and one is out, you have to find out which one is hot. Got a tester? The new timer is polarized for modern electricity, which hasn't gone into effect yet, it is coming. Your house wouldn't have it. If it does, you will know by the fuse box being separated by ground and neutral, the old ones were wired together. If it is, the new switch will only work with the white wire to neutral and the green to ground. Now that you are totally confused. try wiring it up with the green to ground, red and black to to the 2 blacks. See what happens. Hope this helps.

Help with Woods 59018/59028 7 day digital timer

The usual connection for this type timer is the house black power to the timer black, the house white power to the timer white and the , the light black wire to the red timer wire.
If you only have two wires, one black and one white, at the switch location, then you cannot use this style timer , as it needs a neutral. You should return this timer and get one that does not require a neutral connection.

Timer not working Malibu ML88T Power pack

there are multipul 12 timers on the market BUT if you use a 12 volt power pack designed for a car radio display or even a simple 12v 5 amp laptop power suply and a cheep outdoor timer or cheeper indoor timer and run wires inside you can add lights
remember theise lights are low voltage and if you change the bulbs out you can really strech out the amprage too
low amp led automotive bulbs are a great invention they draw mili amps and use 12 volts
i converted my noma moonrays to a laptop power supply and added 30 more to a single string so i curently have 50 lights on 1 power suply pulling aprox 4.5 amps out of a 5A power supply i used led bulbs and simple moma cord now i can light the whole back yard with 1 ps and it's really bright if i use the led headlamps mounted under the soffit on the house
