The actual error message you get is designed to help you diagnose potential error conditions. It is very helpful to know what message was generated. Anyway, I will do my best to guess.

Deactivate the statistical plots.

Press [2nd][Y=] to access (STAT PLOTs)
Select [4:PlotsOff] then [ENTER]

That should solve your problem. Post a comment to this thread if you still have trouble graphing.

Syntax error for graphs

That hardly seems possible. Try graphing the function y=x.
There are a few ways to draw curves on this calculator
  1. Drawing functions
  • Type is y=f(X), the [X,theta, T] key enters X when pressed

  • Type POLAR r=f(theta), key [X,theta, T] enters theta w. pressed.

  • Type PARAMETRIC, requires an X=f(T) and Y=g(T) functions

  • Inequality graphing. You can also draw some functional inequalities such as y> 2X^2-3
  • Dynamic graphing (graphs where some parameter may be changing)
Drawing Relations
There are some other relation you can draw X=, X>, X< , and the drawing of general conics.

I hope that the foregoing remarks help you sort out the problem you are having. If they fail to do that, I suggest that you read the manual that shipped with your Prizm.

INVALID DIM error message may occur if you are trying to graph
a function that does not involve the stat plot features. The error can be
corrected by turning off the stat plots. To turn the stat plots off, press
2nd, stat plot , and then select 4:PlotsOff.

When i try to graph anything, EEROR 13 DIMENSION comes up! what do i do??? i neev my calulator to wokr , i have a tst tomorrow! :/

From the manual:

You entered an argument with an inappropriate dimension.
You entered a matrix or vector dimension less than 1 or greater than 255 or a non-integer.
You attempted to invert a matrix that is not a square matrix.

If you can't figure it out from here, please reply to this post telling us what you were graphing or attempting to graph when you got this error.

When i type anything into Y= the error message INVALID DIM comes up. What do I do to fix this?

I believe that you get the error message not when you type anything in Y= editor, but after you hit the {GRAPH] button. Anyway this is due to the fact that one of your statistical plots are active.

If you got the message while trying to draw a graph (that is your situation)
  1. Press [2nd][Y=] (STAT PLOT)
  2. Choose option [4:PlotsOff][ENTER]. Screen displays Done
If message popped up while doing something else that involves lists or matrices, the length of lists may be different, or the dimensions of matrices may not be compatible.

To Clear the lists:
  1. Press [2nd][0] (CATALOG)
  2. Press [PGRM] (C) to jump to first command that starts with c.
  3. Use arrow to scroll down to ClrAllLists, select it [ENTER]
  4. Calculator displays Done
  5. Start the new problem.
To reset the Ram press [2nd][ ] (MEM) [7:Reset][1:All Ram][2:Reset]. Press [CLEAR] to erase the Ram Cleared message.

When the RAM is cleared, the calculator is reset. The calculator resets itself after a battery change.

Graphing syntax error

To draw graphs.
  1. Turn calculator ON (isn't that obvious?)
  2. If you see no icons, press [MENU]
  3. Use arrow to move focus on GRAPH and press [EXE]
  4. By default, the graph type is Y=
  5. Enter your equation on line Y1=, use the [X,theta,T] key to enter the X-variable
  6. Press [EXE] when finished entering a function.
  7. Enter other functions if you want.
  8. When done, press [F6:Draw].
  9. If you do not see a big portion of the curve you can press [SHIFT] [F2:Zoom] and select [F5:Auto]
I am enclosing screen captures. The screens you see may not look exactly as on the FX-9750G, but all menu commands you have to execute are accessed by the same key sequences.

Graph and trace buttons don't work

If either error occurs when trying to graph a function (not a STAT PLOT), the error can be corrected by turning off the STAT PLOTS. The following steps will turn the STAT PLOTS off, allowing the graph of the function to be displayed.• Press [2nd] [Y=] to access the STAT PLOTS menu.
• Select 4: PlotsOff.
• Press [ENTER].
• Try graphing a function like y = x^4-3x^3+6x-1
