Not much can go wrong. Have you checked your extractor? If it's intact and not broken, try moving it with your thumbnail. Is it loose? That's a spring problem. If it's tight and intact, WITH THE BOLT OUT, try slipping a small diam wooden dowel down the barrel to see how hard it is to push a spent shell out. If it's tight, you've got a burr in the chamber or dirt/varnish buildup. Examine the shell for scratches. If the shell's good and no scratches, clean the chamber with a brass brush mounted in a drill.

HOW DO YOU DISASSEMBLE A MOSSBERG 20 GAUGE BANTUM

Same as all Model 500's. Bolt halfway open, remove barrel, remove trigger group pin, trigger group, both shell stops, bolt carrier, bolt, lifter. Reverse to reassemble. Seriously, head to youtube and watch a video. You can go step by step with the video. The only key spot you need to watch out for is the bolt/bolt carrier when you take it apart and put it back together. The carrier will just ever so slightly clear the front of the inner rail on the receiver....and when you out it back together, put the bolt into that spot, put the forearm back on so the action bars are down next to the bolt, and then drop the bolt carrier back in to link the bolt and action bars back together. Once the cvarrier is in that perfect spot, it'll drop right into the slots. Just slide it a hair forward so the rails slightly block it in and then do the stops. Next key spot....and this is one a lot of folks mess up so don't feel bad. You aren't alone. The pins in the trigger group have to be centered all the way to get the trigger group in right. Use your fingers to center them on both sides, slip the front edges into the trigger group hole to catch the two front tabs, and then GENTLY lower the group in and pin it. DO NOT FORCE IT IN!!! Those tabs break.

I have a Mossberg New Haven 600 AT 12 ga. pump. Loaded or unloaded it won't pump unless I push the button underneath. Please help

The firing pin has to drop before it will pump. The button underneath is to safely unload it. If you have it unloaded or use whats called snap caps you pull the trigger and then the action will unlock. Here is a manual and that is covered on page 2. I have a mossberg 385t,he took the bolt out to clean it and now cant get it to go all the way back in......What do i do?

This may be a bit tricky. If you have pulled the trigger as you re-insert the bolt and that has not worked. You may have to arm the bolt, try with safe off and pull the trigger as you reinsert the bolt. You may have to pre rotate the Coc piece into the slot in the receiver.

I took out the bolt to clean it and now can't get it back in. It goes part way.

Not real sure which model you have, one named is a semi-auto, the other is a bolt action. So if you have a bolt action, to reinstall the bolt you have to have the safety off, pull the trigger as you insert the bolt back in place (be sure it is unloaded and pointed in a safe direction). If for some reason the bolt has un-cocked you must first **** the bolt. some models have the firing mech. in the bolt.

I recently purchased a Mossberg 500A shotgun and the first few times I have shot it, it has been perfect. Now it seems like the trigger is getting harder to pull when I take a shot.

I would try oiling the mechanism first, and it may have a trigger adjustment that may be modified for the trigger pull. Odds are it may have some friction on the trigger mechanism at first and may just need some lube. Try this and if all else fails, take it to the dealer that you purchased it from and have them evaluate it.
Hope this helps

What is the difference between a Mossberg 500 and a Mossberg 535 max 4.

The 535 is simply a slightly stretched model 500. It can chamber and fire 3.5" shells where the 500 will only handle up to 3" shells. The guns are identical in function and pretty much identical in parts except the stretched bits.
