So, i changed the ingnitor in my affinity gas dryer, it runs through the cycle now, but still no heat?

Most of the time it's the thermal fuse and not the ignitor. Check the fuse for continuity. It's the thin white fuse with 2 wires connected to it.

Dryer is not getting hot

These dryers have an auto spark ingnitor just like a gas stove. They do go bad and need replacement. Upon turning on your dryer, you should hear the ignitor click at least once to ignite the burner. If not I would check the continuity to that ignitor first

I have a MD7600 maytag dryer. It runs but it will

when you turn it on give it a few minutes and see if you see a glow. that will be the ingnitor.if glowes low or dont see a glow at all then id say you have a bad ignitor. if you see a bright orange glow then id say your gas valve is bad. the ignitor is located next to the gas valve, usually their is a peep hole in the front of the dryer that you pop off (dime size cap) and you can look in hole and see if you see a glow. ignitor price roughly 20-50 dollars. vale can be pricey. 50-145.00 dollars part only. labor ingnitor 75-125 and for valve 85-165 depending on were you live and who you use. usually one or the other not both and seldom a thermostat could be bad.

My dryer doesnt get hot

With gas bills so outrageously high these days, you deserve a medal for being able to keep current! lol Let's see what we can do about the dryer. First, check that the ignitor is working. It should glow an orange color if it is working. If the ignitor seems to be working properly, then I would suspect faulty gas valve coils. These are solenoids located directly above the gas valves, that when energized, open the valves and permit gas to flow to the burner. If the solenoids are faulty, the gas valves won't open and the burner cannot light. Due to the difficulty in testing these solenoids, it is best to replace both (all) of them at once if any are suspected of being faulty. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Igniter only glows on permanent press cycle and not timed cycles

I unplugged the ignitor and put the leads from my multi meter into the plug to monitor the signal to the ingnitor. I got 120 volts only when I turned the timer switch counter clockwise or to the permanent press cycle. When I turned the switch clockwise or to the timed cycle I wouldn't get the voltage to the ignitor. While in the timed cycle, I turned the switch counter clockwise and as I started counter clockwise pressure on the switch knob I got 120 volts to the ignitor. There is a little play in the switch and when taking up the play in the counter clockwise direction the switch would engize the ignitor. The timer switch is bad.

Dryer Ignitor turns on then back off with no flames afterwards

the government mandated that gas appliances start using electronic ignighters because pilot lights would keep blowing gas even after they blew out now the way they work is calibrated on how much amps the glow bar draws the rest of the amps go to the safety valve to open it when the glow bar is drawing enough amps to be hot enough to ignite the gas now what this means is even though the glow bar glows it can still not be hot enough to ig night the gas so the safety valves don't get the right amps to the solenoids to open so you could have a weak ignighter or bad solenoids on the safety valves now i would lean toward the solenoids but i would buy both and first replace the solenoids then the ignighter if the solenoids work take the ignighter back
